Who handles applications in India

VFS Global is the outsourcing office responsible for the reception and release of passports for short stay visa applications; applications must be submitted at least 15 calendar days before travel. Direct personal application for short stay visas at the Embassy of Switzerland in New Delhi is possible only with a prior appointment requested by email at least one month before travel. Family members of Swiss/EU/EFTA citizens may apply directly at the Embassy (appointment mandatory). Student visas for more than 90 days are submitted personally at the Visa Section, Embassy of Switzerland, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, with an online appointment.

  • Minors not travelling with both parents: notarised consent letter of the non-travelling parent; copy of parents' passport/PAN/driving licence
  • Personal bank statement (last 3 months) with bank stamp/signature in original, A4 size only
  • Do not staple passports together; use rubber bands
