What kinds of apartments and vacation rentals are on Yatra?
Entire homes, private rooms, studios, lofts, and villas across Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Thamel, Chitwan, Lumbini, Nagarkot, Bandipur, and every major Nepali destination. Each listing is independently verified by our Kathmandu concierge before going live.
Can I book instantly or do I need host approval?
Both. Properties flagged Instant Book confirm immediately the moment you pay; others go to the host for approval, usually within 1–4 hours. The badge is shown on every search card so you know before clicking.
What's Yatra's cancellation policy for apartments?
Each listing publishes one of five tiers — Flexible (full refund up to 24h before), Moderate (5 days), Strict (7 days at 50%), Super Strict (30 days at 50%), or Long-term — with the exact refund percentages disclosed before checkout.
Is the cleaning fee included in the nightly rate?
No. Cleaning fee is set per listing by the host and shown as a separate line item at checkout, in addition to the nightly rate, 13% Nepali VAT, and any optional extras you select.
Can I pay in NPR, INR, or USD?
All apartment bookings are invoiced in NPR (Nepalese Rupees). We display approximate INR and USD conversions on the listing for reference, but the final charge to your card or bank transfer is always in NPR at the day's mid-market rate.
Are utilities, Wi-Fi, and bedding included?
Yes — every listed price includes electricity, water, Wi-Fi, bed linen, and towels by default. Heating, AC, kitchen-pack restocks, or extra cleanings during a long stay may carry a small surcharge that's always disclosed up front.
Do I need to leave a security deposit?
Most listings collect a refundable damage deposit (typically NPR 5,000–15,000) authorized on your card 24h before check-in and released within 7 days of check-out, assuming no damage. The exact amount is shown at booking.
Can I bring extra guests beyond the listing's max?
No. The maximum guest count is set by the host based on bedding and local regulations. Showing up with extra guests is grounds for cancellation without refund. Message the host before booking if you need a larger group fit.
Is monthly / long-term rental available?
Yes. Most hosts offer 28-day+ discounts of 20–40% off the nightly rate. Filter by 'Long-term stays' on the search page or message the host for a custom monthly quote — Yatra concierge can broker a written long-stay agreement on request.
What's the check-in process?
You'll receive the host's contact details and exact check-in instructions 48 hours before arrival. Most listings offer self check-in via lockbox or smart lock; some Kathmandu hosts greet you in person. Standard check-in is 2pm; check-out is 11am unless noted otherwise.
Are pets allowed?
Pet policy varies by listing and is shown on each property page. Look for the 'Pets allowed' filter or the paw icon on cards. Where allowed, hosts may charge a small per-pet cleaning surcharge of NPR 500–2,000.
Does Yatra verify the listings?
Yes. Every Yatra apartment is physically inspected by our Kathmandu concierge before publishing — verified photos, working amenities, valid host ID, and a real address. We re-inspect annually and after every major guest complaint.
Can I get an invoice for company / VAT reimbursement?
Yes. Add your company name and PAN/VAT number at checkout and Yatra issues a fully tax-compliant Nepali VAT invoice within 24 hours of booking, valid for corporate reimbursement and government per-diem claims.
What happens if there's a problem during my stay?
Call or WhatsApp the Yatra For Fun concierge line (+977 970-9066517) — we're staffed in Kathmandu 7 days a week and most issues (broken Wi-Fi, hot water, lockout) are resolved within 2 hours. If a property is unsafe or misrepresented, we relocate you and refund the difference.
How are the photos and amenities verified?
Every listing's hero photos are shot by Yatra's photographer or audited against on-site reality during inspection. Amenity tags (Wi-Fi speed, AC type, kitchen completeness) are checked against the actual unit, not just the host's claim.
