About these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you (the user or business entity accessing any Yatra service) and Yatra For Fun Pvt. Ltd. — a private limited company incorporated in Nepal under the Companies Act, 2063 (2006), with its registered office at Koteshwor-32, Kathmandu, Nepal ("Yatra", "we", "us", or "our").
These Terms govern your access to and use of the website yatraforfun.com, the partner dashboard dashboard.yatraforfun.com, our mobile and progressive-web applications, our application programming interfaces (APIs), and every feature, product, content item, or tool we operate (collectively, the "Services").
By creating a Yatra account, initiating a booking, generating a dummy ticket, installing the Yatra Hotel Manager, subscribing to the Yatra Travel-Agent platform, or otherwise using any Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.
These Terms are concluded electronically and are enforceable under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 (2006) of Nepal. Your click-through assent (for example, checking a consent box at sign-up or checkout) has the same legal effect as a physical signature under Section 4 of that Act.

Eligibility & account registration
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into a binding contract under the Muluki Civil Code, 2074 (2017). Minors may only use the Services under the supervision, and with the express consent, of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts full responsibility for all activity on the account.
If you are booking on behalf of another person (for example, a family member, colleague, or client), you warrant that you have their prior authorisation to share their personal data, to place the Booking on their behalf, and to pay for it.
Account creation
Self-registration through yatraforfun.com is available only for Customer accounts. Travel-agent, hotel-admin, and staff accounts are provisioned exclusively by Yatra after completing the partner onboarding process (including KYC, PAN/VAT verification, and — where applicable — production of a valid licence issued by the Department of Tourism under the Tourism Act, 2035 (1978) or a licence issued by a competent hotel-classification authority).
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for every activity that occurs under your Account. Passwords must be at least eight (8) characters. You must notify us without undue delay at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
Yatra issues short-lived access tokens (15 minutes) backed by refresh tokens (7 days) to protect your session. You consent to our storage of these tokens in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Our Services
Yatra operates an online travel platform plus two business-to- business software products. The current catalogue of Services is set out below. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any Service, provided that the change does not retroactively defeat a Booking you have already paid for.
Consumer travel products
- Flights — live search of commercial airline inventory via the Amadeus Global Distribution System with issue of genuine airline PNRs.
- Hotels — 6,000+ properties in Nepal, India, and worldwide, including inventory aggregated from Agoda and direct contracts with local hotels.
- Sightseeing & Tours — guided day trips, tickets, and curated experiences operated by local vendors.
- Vehicles — cars, SUVs, and vans for hire with Nepali drivers, priced per day and/or per kilometre.
- Apartments — long-stay and vacation rentals across Nepal and select overseas markets.
- Visa assistance — document review, appointment scheduling, and submission support for 50+ destination countries. Yatra is a service provider; the granting, refusal, and timing of a visa are the exclusive prerogative of the relevant embassy or consulate.
- Dummy tickets — verifiable flight-itinerary PDFs intended solely for visa interviews, proof-of-onward-travel requirements, and travel-planning visualisations. Dummy tickets are not bookings; they do not carry airline inventory and cannot be used for boarding. See Section 7.
- Dummy hotel confirmations — sample hotel booking PDFs for visa documentation, likewise not confirmed reservations.
- AI itinerary builder — day-by-day trip plans produced by a large-language model, with inline booking shortcuts. AI-generated suggestions are informational and not a professional travel recommendation.
B2B software products
- Yatra Hotel Manager — cloud property-management software (reception, housekeeping, restaurant POS, pricing, channel manager, folios, HR, accounting) for hotels.
- Yatra Travel-Agent Platform — wholesale travel distribution (flights, hotels, sightseeing, visa, dummy tickets), markup engine, commission ledger, and prepaid wallet for registered travel agencies.
Additional terms may apply to specific Services. Where a product-specific supplement is presented to you at sign-up or checkout, it forms part of these Terms and prevails over any inconsistent general clause.
Bookings, pricing & payments
How a booking is formed
A binding contract between you and Yatra (and, where applicable, the Partner) is formed only when (a) you receive an e-mail or SMS booking confirmation from us, and (b) the booking reference number (PNR, voucher ID, or confirmation code) is issued. Items added to a cart, quotes, and holds (including the 15-minute payment hold we apply on flight and hotel inventory) do not constitute acceptance.
Pricing & taxes
Prices are displayed in Nepali Rupees (NPR) by default; alternate currencies may be offered for international products. Prices include applicable Value Added Tax at 13 percent under the VAT Act, 2052 (1996), Nepal service-sector fees, and airline/hotel taxes where collected by us. Where foreign supplier taxes (for example, tourism-development levies or city taxes) are payable locally at check-in, this is disclosed at checkout.
Prices are dynamic and may change up to the moment of payment due to airline revenue-management systems, hotel rate-parity rules, foreign-exchange movement, or GDS repricing. Yatra does not guarantee that a fare or rate visible in search will still be available at checkout.
Payment methods
We accept payment through: eSewa, Khalti, ConnectIPS, FonePay, PayPal, and verified bank transfer. International cross-border payments are processed in compliance with the Foreign Exchange (Regulation) Act, 2019 (1962) and the relevant circulars of the Nepal Rastra Bank. For travel agents, a prepaid wallet (minimum top-up NPR 10,000) is available.
All gateway transactions are protected by idempotency keys and digital-signature verification. If a duplicate charge is detected, the secondary charge is auto-voided within the gateway settlement window.
Invoicing
For every successful Booking, Yatra issues a tax invoice compliant with the Value Added Tax Rules, 2053 (1997) and, where applicable, deducts Tax at Source in accordance with the Income Tax Act, 2058 (2002). Invoices are made available inside the user account within 24 hours of confirmation and can be downloaded in PDF.
Currency conversion & chargebacks
Where you pay in a currency other than the supplier's settlement currency, Yatra applies an exchange rate determined at the moment of capture. You authorise us to charge — in addition to the advertised amount — any mandatory payment-gateway surcharge and any chargeback penalty levied by a card issuer where the chargeback is later reversed in Yatra's favour.
Cancellations & refunds
Cancellation rights, refund eligibility, and processing timelines are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Refund Policy is drafted in line with the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 (2018) and the Consumer Protection Rules, 2076 (2020).
In summary: flights follow the airline's fare rules; hotels follow the property's published cancellation window; visa government fees are non-refundable once submitted; dummy tickets are delivered as a finished digital product and are not refundable except where we fail to deliver a valid PDF. Full details — including free-cancellation cut-offs, no-show rules, and force- majeure handling — are set out in the Refund Policy.
Special terms — dummy tickets & dummy hotels
Dummy tickets and dummy hotel confirmations are information-only documents produced by Yatra to help you (a) satisfy onward-travel documentation requirements demanded by certain embassies and consulates during the visa process, or (b) visualise a travel plan before committing to a real booking.
What they are NOT
- They are not airline tickets. No airline seat is reserved; no PNR is created in any airline's inventory system.
- They are not hotel bookings. No room is blocked with any property.
- They cannot be used to check in, board a flight, or enter a hotel.
Validity & expiry
Unless a different validity period is agreed in writing, a dummy ticket is valid for 48 hours from the moment of generation, as indicated in the PDF footer. After expiry the document is automatically marked as expired in our systems and any embassy look-up URL returns an "expired" status. You may purchase a renewal at the prevailing rate.
Honest representation
You must not present a dummy ticket as a confirmed booking to anyone other than a visa officer who is contractually or procedurally aware that dummy tickets are an acceptable form of proof. Yatra is not liable for visa refusals caused by an embassy's refusal to accept dummy documentation, nor for any penalty, deportation, or immigration consequence arising from your misrepresentation of a dummy ticket as a real booking.
Fees
Dummy tickets start at NPR 999 per PDF. The fee covers document generation, storage, and the 48-hour verifiable look-up link. Fees are non-refundable once the PDF is delivered except where Yatra fails to deliver a valid document (see the Refund Policy).
Acceptable-use rules
When using the Services, you agree not to:
- use the Services in a manner that violates Applicable Law, including the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 (2006), the Banking Offences and Punishment Act, 2064 (2008), anti-money-laundering statutes, or sanctions regulations;
- provide false or misleading passenger, guest, traveller, or payment information;
- resell Yatra inventory without an authorised travel-agent contract, or use automated scripts to scrape prices or place bookings;
- attempt to probe, penetrate, or reverse-engineer the Services, or interfere with any security control (including rate limits, signature verification, and idempotency checks);
- upload, post, or distribute Content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, infringing, or harmful to minors;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity (including government bodies or airlines);
- use the AI itinerary builder to generate content that is hateful, sexual, violent, or otherwise prohibited by our AI content-safety rules;
- misuse dummy tickets, dummy hotel confirmations, or visa documents in a way that deceives any border-control authority, airline, or embassy officer.
We may suspend or terminate your Account, reverse any Booking, or report the activity to Nepal Police and the relevant foreign authority if we have a reasonable suspicion of abuse.
Role of third-party suppliers
For every Booking other than dummy tickets, dummy hotels, visa service fees, and Yatra SaaS subscriptions, Yatra acts as an intermediary between you and a Partner. The Partner is the principal service provider and is independently responsible for:
- the operation, safety, quality, and legality of the underlying travel service;
- performance of the transportation, lodging, or activity you have booked;
- compliance with civil-aviation rules (Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, or the equivalent authority in the overseas market), hotel-classification rules, or tourism-operator rules that apply in the country of service;
- its own terms and conditions, which you accept by completing the Booking and which are communicated to you at checkout or in the confirmation e-mail.
Where a Partner fails, defaults, or delivers a sub-standard service, Yatra will use reasonable efforts to assist you — including co-ordinating a refund, a re-booking, or a complaint escalation — but we do not underwrite the Partner's obligations beyond what is recoverable from the Partner.
Additional terms for B2B customers
Hotel Manager (HOTEL_ADMIN)
The Hotel Manager is licensed, not sold. Yatra grants each subscribing hotel a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access the software for the duration of the active subscription. All guest data processed through the Hotel Manager is held by the hotel as the data controller; Yatra acts as the data processor under the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) and any data-processing addendum we have signed with the hotel. Channel-manager and GDS connections are subject to the relevant channel's technical terms.
Travel-Agent Platform (TRAVEL_AGENT_ADMIN)
Access requires (i) a valid travel-agency licence issued under the Travel and Trekking Agency (Registration and Regulation) Rules, 2037 (1981), (ii) a PAN/VAT certificate, and (iii) execution of the Yatra Agent Agreement. Commissions, markup rules, and wallet top-ups are governed by that agreement; where it conflicts with these Terms on a B2B matter, the Agent Agreement prevails.
Staff sub-accounts created by a B2B customer inherit the customer's obligations. The B2B customer is jointly and severally liable for the acts and omissions of its staff users.
AI-generated content
Parts of the Services (notably the itinerary builder and certain customer-support replies) are produced by large-language models supplied by third parties. AI output may contain factual inaccuracies, hallucinated attractions, outdated opening hours, or fare ranges that no longer apply.
You must independently verify any material detail (visa requirements, vaccination rules, opening hours, border-crossing rules, ticket prices) before you rely on it. AI output is provided "as is" with no warranty. Yatra disclaims liability for losses arising from reliance on AI output except where loss is caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Intellectual property
The Services, including the Yatra marks, logos, user interface, source code, Rust search engines, APIs, documentation, and curated content, are the property of Yatra For Fun Pvt. Ltd. or its licensors and are protected by the Copyright Act, 2059 (2002), the Patent, Design and Trademark Act, 2022 (1965), and international intellectual-property treaties.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services solely for the purpose for which they are offered. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual- property right to you.
Your content
By posting a review, photo, rating, or comment, you grant Yatra a worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable right to display and distribute that Content across the Services for as long as your Account is active. You warrant that you own the Content or have obtained the necessary rights to share it and that it does not infringe any third-party right.
Privacy, cookies & data
Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is drafted in conformity with the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) and the Individual Privacy Regulations, 2077 (2020), and it describes how we obtain consent, which data we collect, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and how you can exercise your access, rectification, and erasure rights.
By using the Services you also consent to our use of cookies, local storage, and similar device identifiers for session management, fraud prevention, and analytics, as further detailed in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
No warranty on Partner services
Except for Services operated directly by Yatra, all travel services are delivered by Partners under their own terms. Yatra makes no warranty, express or implied, about the fitness, punctuality, safety, or quality of a Partner service.
Cap on liability
To the maximum extent permitted under the Muluki Civil Code, 2074 (2017) and the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 (2018), Yatra's aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or in connection with a Booking is capped at the total amount you paid to Yatra for that Booking in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
For subscription-based B2B Services, liability is capped at the fees paid to Yatra during the twelve (12) months preceding the event.
Excluded losses
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses; loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, or anticipated savings; or loss arising from force majeure. Nothing in this Section limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Yatra, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claim, loss, damage, or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- your breach of these Terms or of Applicable Law;
- false or misleading information supplied by you in connection with a Booking or visa application;
- misuse of a dummy ticket or dummy hotel confirmation as a real reservation;
- your infringement of a third party's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
Force majeure
Neither party is in breach of these Terms, nor liable for delay or failure to perform, where performance is prevented or delayed by an event beyond that party's reasonable control — including earthquake, flood, fire, pandemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, general strike, airspace closure, sovereign act, or nationwide internet or payment-gateway outage. The affected party must notify the other promptly and take reasonable steps to mitigate the impact.
Where a Booking cannot be fulfilled due to force majeure, Yatra will seek a refund, credit, or re-booking from the Partner and pass the outcome through to you, less non-recoverable supplier fees. See the Refund Policy, Section 9 ("Force majeure").
Governing law, jurisdiction & dispute resolution

Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect a change in the Services, in Applicable Law, or in our business practices. When we make a material change, we will give reasonable advance notice by e-mail, in-app banner, or prominent website notice — at least seven (7) days in advance where the change reduces your rights.
Continued use of the Services after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the updated Terms, you may close your Account before the effective date; any Bookings already confirmed remain governed by the Terms in force at the time of Booking.
General
Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, any product-specific supplement, and (for B2B customers) the signed Agent or Hotel agreement together form the entire agreement between you and Yatra concerning the Services.
Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
