## Overview

VFS Global is the outsourcing office responsible for the reception and release of passports for short stay visa applications; applications must be submitted at least 15 calendar days before travel. Direct personal application for short stay visas at the Embassy of Switzerland in New Delhi is possible only with a prior appointment requested by email at least one month before travel. Family members of Swiss/EU/EFTA citizens may apply directly at the Embassy (appointment mandatory). Student visas for more than 90 days are submitted personally at the Visa Section, Embassy of Switzerland, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, with an online appointment.

### All applicants

- Valid national passport issued within the last 10 years, at least 3 months validity after scheduled return, at least two blank pages (handwritten passports not accepted)
- 1 passport size picture pasted on the application form
- Visa application form completed and signed (authorization of third person if applicable; minors signed by legal guardian/s)
- Authorization form (mandatory for all applicants along with the application form)
- Introduction letter on employer/company letterhead, signed and stamped by HR, with position, duration of service, no objection statement, travel dates and purpose
- Travel insurance from the list of approved Indian insurers, minimum EUR 30,000
- Flight reservation with names of all travellers (plus intra-Schengen flights/train/car rental if applicable)
- Proof of accommodation in Switzerland/Schengen states
- Proof of financial status (originals, A4, bank stamp and signature): employed - last 3 months salary slips, last 3 months personal bank statements, personal ITR-V for last 2 assessment years; self-employed - business registration/GST registration, last 3 months personal bank statements, ITR-V for last 2 years; retired - pension bank statement for last 3 months and proof of regular income
- Minors not travelling with both parents: notarised consent letter of the non-travelling parent; copy of parents' passport/PAN/driving licence
- Personal bank statement (last 3 months) with bank stamp/signature in original, A4 size only
- Do not staple passports together; use rubber bands
