How do Indian citizens apply for a Portugal visa?

Who handles applications in India

Visa applications are submitted through VFS Global, the Embassy of Portugal's external service provider; appointments must be booked and the VFS service fee pre-paid online before visiting a centre. The Embassy of Portugal in New Delhi has jurisdiction over all of India except Goa, Maharashtra and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, which fall under the Consulate General of Portugal in Goa (VFS Mumbai, Goa and Pune). Separate document checklists apply for the New Delhi and Goa jurisdictions; applicants must give their own phone number (not an agent's). Long-term (national) visas are processed by the Embassy and sent to the Portuguese immigration authority (SEF/AIMA).
