Important notes

  • Every Nepali-language document MUST be accompanied by a notary-certified English translation — embassies will reject untranslated originals. Use a Nepal Bar Council–registered translator and have each translation notarised by a Notary Public.
  • Income proof for Slovenian visas: ANY ONE of the four Nepal-side income bundles is sufficient (Business OR Salary OR Pension OR Rental) -- no need to submit all four. Pick the bundle that matches your active income source.
  • Nepali ordinary passport holders MUST apply for a Slovenian visa BEFORE travel -- Nepal is on Schengen Annex I (visa-required nationalities). There is NO visa-on-arrival, NO eTA, and NO visa-waiver agreement.
  • Slovenian Type C visas are Schengen Uniform Visas -- valid across all 29 Schengen states on the same 90/180 day-clock. A Slovenian visa lets you also visit Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Croatia, etc.
  • Conversely -- a valid + previously-used Schengen multiple-entry visa from any other Schengen state lets Nepalis enter Slovenia visa-free within the unused balance of the 90/180 budget.
  • PRIMARY Nepal route: travel to VFS Global Delhi (Shivaji Stadium, Connaught Place) for Type C and Type D applications. Embassy New Delhi adjudicates.
  • ALTERNATIVE Nepal route for SOME Type C categories: Embassy of Germany in Kathmandu (Gyaneshwor) may accept Slovenian Schengen visa applications under bilateral Schengen-representation -- VERIFY at +977 1 4217 200 before lodging. Coverage is typically tourist / family / business; long-stay Type D always goes via VFS Delhi.
  • Common Nepali sectors: hospitality (Slovenian Alps Bled / Bohinj resorts -- EUR 1,000-1,500/month), construction (Ljubljana + Maribor infrastructure -- EUR 1,200-1,800/month), IT (Ljubljana tech -- EUR 1,800-3,500/month), nursing (Slovenian healthcare-sector shortage list).
  • Schengen post-2024 fee: Slovenian Type C visa fee EUR 90 (adults, harmonised since 11 June 2024). Children 6-11: EUR 45. Children <6: free. Type D fee EUR 77. Plus VFS service fee INR 2,711.
  • Slovenian Single Permit framework (combined residence + work permit) since 2018 EU Directive transposition -- one-step application replaces previous two-step Type D + Work Permit.
  • Slovenian financial-requirement for student residence permit: EUR 494/month minimum (~ EUR 5,930/year). For tourist Type C: EUR 70/day prescribed.
  • Always disclose prior Schengen / EU / UK / US visa refusals -- non-disclosure under Article 32(1)(b) of the Schengen Visa Code is grounds for refusal + future-application risk under VIS.
  • Nepal joined the Hague Apostille Convention on 14 March 2024 -- Nepal-issued public documents apostilled by Nepal MoFA on/after that date are accepted by Slovenian authorities without further consular legalisation.
  • EES (Entry/Exit System) is operational in Slovenia since 12 October 2025 -- biometric registration on first Schengen entry.
  • ETIAS launching late 2026 -- Nepal NOT in ETIAS scope (visa-required nationals are exempt). Nepali applicants continue with full Schengen visa applications under VIS.
