Important notes

  • Every Nepali-language document MUST be accompanied by a notary-certified English translation — embassies will reject untranslated originals. Use a Nepal Bar Council–registered translator and have each translation notarised by a Notary Public.
  • Nepalis require a visa for Malaysia — eligible for the e-Visa under the VWR (Visa Without Reference) track via MyVISA portal: NO Malaysian sponsor approval needed for SEV / MEV.
  • eNTRI (visa-waiver-style) is restricted to mainland Chinese + Indian nationals (both also visa-free until 31 Dec 2026). eNTRI is NOT available for Nepalis.
  • Passport must have at least 6 months validity from arrival, with at least 3 blank pages.
  • Approval typically 24–72 hours via MyVISA; urgent processing same-day.
  • Per-entry stay: 30 days — NOT extendable in country (re-apply for new visa).
  • e-Visa SEV validity: 3 months from issuance to enter.
  • e-Visa MEV: 6 months validity (3 months for medical category), multiple entries within the window — granted to applicants with prior travel history.
  • Notarised English translation of any Nepali-language document mandatory.
  • Bank statement (last 3 months) having ending balance of NPR 3 lakh (3,00,000).
  • MANDATORY: Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) must be filed at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my within 3 days before entry — separate from e-Visa, free.
  • VDR (Visa with Reference) — for dependants of employment-pass holders, special cases — submitted physically at Embassy Kathmandu AFTER Putrajaya MoHA approval.
  • 2026 fee revision: none expected; MYR 20 base + MYR 105 / 200 / 300 processing tiers in force.
