UAE Visa Sponsorship Jobs for Indians: How Hiring Works

Article 6 of the UAE Labour Law makes working without a MOHRE work permit illegal, which is why the employer drives the whole process. This guide uses u.ae, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) and GDRFA Dubai, as published on the official sources, checked on 2026-10-15. Who does what when a UAE employer hires you from India?

Emirates ID, medical test and insurance costs are not included in the ICP figures, and Dubai applications go through GDRFA Dubai, whose fees may differ. Employers using MOHRE's Work Bundle can finish the work permit and residence in about 5 working days, down from 30, in 5 steps with 2 in-person visits.

What must the employer have in place to hire you?

MOHRE checks the company as well as the worker. Before it issues a permit:

• The employer's trade licence must be valid and free of violations.
• Your occupation must match the employer's business activity.
• Regulated professions must meet that profession's licensing conditions.
• The employer must comply with the Wages Protection System.

MOHRE may refuse, not renew or cancel permits if the employer provides incorrect documents, is fictitious or inactive, or does not comply with the Wages Protection System. Firms with listed violations are denied new permits. A work permit to recruit from outside the UAE is valid for two years.

Which documents will you need from India?

ICP lists these for the work entry permit:

• Passport valid at least 6 months and a personal photo.
• Medical report and medical fitness certificate for work.
• Employment contract, employer certificate in the UAE, or a temporary contract or letter stating the purpose of entry.
• Attested certificate of good conduct, for the announced categories.
• Valid UAE health insurance, a travel ticket and a return ticket.

You must be at least 18. The exceptions are a juvenile work permit for ages 15 to 18 and a student training permit. Official pages publish no upper age limit. After arrival, the residence visa needs the MOHRE work permit, a medical fitness test, a security check and your Emirates ID application.

Can you go to the UAE first and look for a job?

Yes, on a job seeker visit visa rather than a tourist visa. It lets you search without a UAE host or sponsor, applied for through ICP or GDRFA Dubai.

GDRFA Dubai also takes a refundable AED 1,000 security amount plus AED 20 warranty and AED 40 guarantee collection and return fees. To qualify you need MOHRE skill level 1, 2 or 3, or a degree from one of the world's top 500 universities within the last 2 years, plus a bachelor's degree or equivalent and an attested qualification certificate. The expected completion time is 48 hours. ICP describes it as single entry.

If an employer then hires you while you are in the UAE, ICP lists an in-country change of status at AED 500.

Can you get a UAE residence visa without an employer sponsor?

Only if you meet salary or income bars set by ICP:

• Green visa, skilled worker: 5 years, self-sponsored. Needs a valid UAE employment contract, MOHRE level 1, 2 or 3, a bachelor's degree and a monthly salary of at least AED 15,000.
• Green visa, freelancer: needs a MOHRE freelance or self-employment permit, a bachelor's degree or specialised diploma, and annual freelance income of at least AED 360,000 over the previous two years.
• Golden visa, skilled professional: 10 years per ICP. Needs MOHRE level 1 or 2, a UAE work permit and contract, a bachelor's degree and a monthly salary of at least AED 30,000.

Warning signs before you accept a UAE job offer

• You are asked to pay for the MOHRE work permit, which the official pages list as the employer's cost.
• You are told to enter on a tourist visa and start work before a work permit exists.
• The job title on the offer does not match the company's business activity.
• The company cannot show a valid trade licence.

Tourist visas sold through VFS for Emirates passengers, such as the 30-day visa at INR 7735, are for visits only. They are not a route to employment.

How long do I have to enter the UAE after my entry permit is issued?

You must enter within 60 days of the entry permit's issue. After arrival, the residence formalities must be completed within 60 days of entry.

Can a UAE resident parent sponsor an Indian student instead of an employer?

Yes, for study. A resident parent earning at least AED 3,000 a month with employer-provided housing, or AED 4,000 without housing, can sponsor a child's student residence. That is a study route, not a work visa.
