How to Book a Turkey Visa Appointment at VFS in India

Which VFS centre can you book?

You cannot pick any city. VFS accepts applications only within your jurisdiction, which is determined by your work and residence address. Three Turkish missions in India split the country:

Two placements surprise people. Kolkata applicants are handled by the Embassy in New Delhi, and Odisha and Chhattisgarh go to Hyderabad. The official jurisdiction list for India is the reference if your case is borderline.

If your passport was issued outside the jurisdiction where you now live, bring local address proof. If you rent, that means a rent agreement for the last six months (with tenant verification if you have been at the address for less than six months), or government address proof such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, or a gas or electricity bill.

How early, and how late, should you book?

VFS accepts applications a maximum of 60 days before travel. No fixed processing time is published; the Embassy or Consulate can take more or less time at its discretion. The checklists instead set minimum lead times, which tell you the latest sensible appointment date:

A practical window for a holiday from Delhi or Mumbai jurisdiction is therefore between 60 days and three weeks before you fly.

What is paid online at booking, and what at the centre?

The Türkiye fee has two parts: a visa fee and a 'Türkiye Visa Application Fee' that includes the VFS service charge. INR 6890 of the total is charged online when you book the appointment. The remainder is paid at the centre by cash, UPI or POS.

VFS gives one worked example: a 3-month visa totals INR 18120, of which INR 6890 is paid online at booking and INR 11230 at the centre. Student and work visas use the same table. Multiple-entry eligibility is verified by the visa officers, and the checklist says there is no refund in any circumstances.

What are the VFS centre timings for applicants?

The New Delhi centre is at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, Mezzanine Level, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place. The Mumbai centre is on the 6th floor of Urmi Axis Building in Mahalaxmi (West), near the MMRC Science Centre metro exit A4.

What should you carry on appointment day?

• The visa application form, filled by hand in blue or black ink in block letters, signed, with one biometric photo affixed.
• Your original passport, valid at least 6 months on arrival in Türkiye with 2 full blank pages, plus copies of the first, last and visa pages, and original previous passports.
• Two biometric photos, 2.5 x 2.5 inch, white background, taken within 6 months, without spectacles or headgear.
• Covering letter, employer leave letter (or school or college NOC), salary slips, stamped bank statements and ITR as your checklist requires.
• Round trip flight reservation, hotel reservation and travel insurance covering the stay.
• Aadhaar and PAN, and your jurisdiction address proof.
• An original authorisation letter if a representative or travel agent submits for you.

Can you skip the appointment with a Türkiye e-Visa?

Some travellers can. Türkiye's Foreign Ministry says Indian ordinary passport holders with a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit may get a single-entry e-Visa valid for one month at evisa.gov.tr, if they meet the conditions. The supporting visa or permit must be valid on the entry date and carried in original. E-Visas are only for tourism or commerce, so anyone going to work or study still books VFS.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply for a Turkey visa at a VFS centre outside my state?

Only if that centre falls under the same mission as your work and residence address. VFS applies the jurisdiction of the Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulates General in Mumbai and Hyderabad, and asks for local address proof where your passport was issued elsewhere.

Is the INR 6890 paid at booking refundable?

The Türkiye checklists say there is no refund in any circumstances. Treat the online booking payment as part of a non-refundable visa fee.

Can a travel agent submit my Turkey visa application?

Yes, with an original authorisation letter from you. In New Delhi, travel agencies submit between 09:00 and 12:00.

How long does a Turkey visa take after the VFS appointment?

No fixed processing time is published, and it may vary at the mission's discretion. Use the checklist lead times, such as at least 15 working days for tourist visas in the Delhi and Mumbai jurisdictions.
