The Embassy network is administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). Restricted nationalities (Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria) MUST apply at one of these missions before arrival.

How many Nepali Embassies are there worldwide?

Where do I apply for a Nepal visa from outside Nepal?
Pre-fill the application at nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/onlinevisa-mission/application, then submit at the nearest Nepali Embassy, Permanent Mission, or Consulate General. Each mission has territorial jurisdiction (concurrent accreditation) covering specific countries — apply at the mission that accredits your country of residence.
Can I apply at any Nepali Embassy worldwide?
No — you must apply at the mission with territorial jurisdiction over your country of residence. For example, Bangladesh nationals apply at Embassy of Nepal Dhaka; UK residents at Embassy of Nepal London; US citizens at Embassy of Nepal Washington D.C. or one of the 3 US consulates (Dallas, NYC, San Francisco).
Do Nepali Permanent Missions issue visas?
The Permanent Missions to the UN (New York, Geneva, Vienna) primarily handle multilateral diplomacy — they don't routinely issue tourist visas to the public. For visa applications, use the corresponding Embassy or Consulate General in the same city or region (e.g. NYC Permanent Mission ↔ NYC Consulate General).
Which countries are excluded from Nepal Visa on Arrival?
Twelve nationalities are excluded from VoA and MUST pre-arrange at a Nepali Embassy abroad with a Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) recommendation letter: Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Eswatini (Swaziland), Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, and Syria. Refugees with travel documents are also excluded from VoA.
