Who is eligible for the Nepal Business Visa?
Foreign nationals investing in or operating a business in Nepal — plus their dependants (spouse + children). Can dependants get a Nepal Business Visa?
Yes. Spouses and children of the principal Business Visa holder receive derivative status at the same fee tier. They are issued separate visa stickers but the application is processed jointly.
Where is the Business Visa extended?
Business Visa extension is the ONLY non-tourist visa extension that can be done at Immigration Offices outside Kathmandu (i.e. at Pokhara). All other non-tourist extensions (Working, Study, Marriage, Residential) must be done at the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu (Kalikasthan).
Can I work for a Nepali employer on a Business Visa?
No — Business Visa is for INVESTING and OPERATING your own business in Nepal. To work for someone else's company, you need a Working Visa (Non-Tourist), which requires a work permit from the Department of Labour and a recommendation from the line ministry.
