Day-by-day itinerary
- 1
Day 1 — Vancouver International Airport to Whitehorse
* 7:00am Make your way to the Air North Check in counter located at Vancouver International Airport-Domestic Terminal. A team member dressed in green will be there to assist with the group's check in.
* Check in for your flight, have your passport ready to show. Make your way to the gate, you can purchase food and drinks post security. Remember: No drinks/liquids pre-security.
* Flight departs for Whitehorse. Complimentary snacks served onboard.
* Arrive in Whitehorse, where a representative will greet you. Enjoy a Whitehorse City tour with some time to explore the quaint northern city (this may be done on Day 4, depending on final flight schedule).
* Travel to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve and enjoy a guided tour. From downtown Whitehorse you will take a comfortable ride of approx. 30 km to the Wildlife Preserve. The Yukon Wildlife Preserve offers great opportunities to view and photograph wildlife in its natural habitat: Dall Sheep, Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goat, Deer, Elk, Woodland Caribou, Wood Bison, Musk-Ox and Moose may be seen, usually up close!
* Check-in at the Inn on the Lake and receive your Arctic winter clothes.
* Enjoy a gourmet group dinner this evening at the lodge.

Day 2 — Whitehorse
* Breakfast included.
* Introduction to snowmobiling with a professional guide on Marsh Lake.
* Enjoy an ice fishing demonstration while your guide starts the campfire. Please note, only the guide is licensed to fish. Contact us if you would like to try your hand at ice fishing (additional cost).
* Enjoy a delicious lunch in a beautiful mountains setting (included).
* Dinner (included).
* Free time to enjoy the hotel's facilities including an outdoor hot tub.

Day 3 — Whitehorse
* Breakfast this morning at your accommodation.
* For those pre-booked in a traditional dog sledding tour this morning, you will depart from the lodge after breakfast
* Packed lunch included today.
* Enjoy a free day to go snowshoeing, use the fat bikes provided by the lodge, or simply kick back and relax
* Dinner included at your accommodation this evening.

Day 4 — Whitehorse to Vancouver
* Breakfast this morning at your accommodation.
* Pack up and depart the inn for the Whitehorse airport.
* Transfer to the airport to depart on an early afternoon flight returning to Vancouver.
* Upon arrival in Vancouver transfer to the Opus Hotel in downtown Vancouver.

Day 5 — Vancouver to Kamloops
* Breakfast this morning in the hotel
* 7:30 am - Meet your tour guide in the lobby to depart for the Rocky Mountains
* Your friendly tour Guide will start off the tour with introductions and games so you can meet the other passengers. Hear interesting facts about Vancouver as you make your way out of the city and into the mountains
* Enjoy a number of sights along the way including: the scenic Coquihalla Highway, Bridal Falls, and Canada's only desert
* Stop in Kamloops for lunch
* Experience wine tasting at a local winery
* Check-in to your beautiful riverside accommodation
* Experience a First Nations Cultural Talk this evening. An Indigenous Cultural Host will greet the group and tell stories and legends around a campfire.

Day 6 — Kamloops to Banff
* Have breakfast at your hotel.
* Depart the hotel in the morning.
* Drive through the beautiful snow-capped peaks of Mount Revelstoke National Park & Glacier National Park.
* Explore Lake Louise with the option to go ice skating (seasonal).
* Continue your drive to Banff.
* Check into your hotel in Banff.
* Free time to go shopping on Banff Avenue and try one of the many restaurants.
Glacier National Park

Day 7 — Banff
* After breakfast, enjoy a driving tour of Banff townsite including Bow Falls, HooDoos, Banff Springs Hotel, and more.

* Option to take the Banff Gondola (additional cost).
* Option to participate in an exciting winter activity like snowshoeing, ice walking, or skiing/snowboarding at Lake Louise Ski Resort (additional cost).
* If you are not participating in an activity, enjoy a free day in Banff.

Bow Falls

Day 8 — Banff to Salmon Arm

* Stop at Craigellachie (the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway).
* Check into your boutique hotel located on Shuswap Lake.
* Free time to go for a walk on the lakeside boardwalk or relax in the indoor/outdoor heated pool and hot tub.

- What is the typical weather like during the tour season?
- The weather in the Rocky Mountains can change drastically within a few days. We strongly recommend checking the weather forecast prior to your tour departure, and packing diverse layers to prepare accordingly.
- In general, summers in Western Canada (June to August) are mild to warm, with daytime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). However, it is advisable to be prepared for rain or cooler temperatures, particularly in the evenings.
- What kind of wildlife might we encounter during the tour?
- Western Canada is renowned for its diverse wildlife, and you may encounter a variety of species in their natural habitats on thir tour. These can include black bears, grizzly bears, elk, deer, moose, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and various bird species such as eagles and ospreys.
- Additionally, you might have the opportunity to spot smaller mammals like marmots and squirrels. Our guides are knowledgeable about local wildlife and will ensure that encounters are conducted safely and respectfully, providing an enriching experience while prioritizing the well-being of both guests and animals.
