Located on the western coast of the country along the Pacific Ocean, Lima receives very little rainfall throughout the year and is famously known as the "City Without Rain," though winters are often foggy and humid. Thanks to its strategic harbor, Lima was chosen as the capital of Peru in 1535. Throughout most of the colonial period, it remained the most important political and commercial center in South America. This glorious past is reflected in its well-preserved colonial architecture, which earned Lima recognition as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.Meals: B: Excluded, L: Excluded, D: ExcludedStay: Holiday Inn Lima Miraflores, Jose Antonio Lima, Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores - 2
