Day-by-day itinerary

  1. 1

    Day 1 — Manila

    Welcome to the Philippines! Upon your arrival at Manila airport, your group leader will be there ready and waiting to take you back to our hostel. Today is about relaxing and settling in after that long flight, so hit the streets for some shopping or just head out to explore some of the local sites. We have a quick orientation talk then head out for a welcome dinner and drinks with the rest of the groupies.

    Day 2 — Moalboal

    R&R is over, it's time to get on the move again, so get ready for a day of travelling. We will be heading to the beachside town of Moalboal, famous for the sardine run, and check into our beachfront hotel, which is our home for the next three nights. Once checked in, we will have time to explore the area and see what Moalboal has to offer with our new friends. What better than having dinner overlooking a sunset? Nothing, so that is what we will be doing.

    Day 3 — Whale Sharks and Waterfalls

    Today we head out for a truly unforgettable experience; we jump in the water to swim with the majestic whale sharks. Bring your underwater camera, as trust us you will want to remember this forever! After that, we head deep into the hills of Cebu to visit some of the Philippines' most beautiful waterfalls. Cool down in the crystal clear azure waters of Tumalog falls, which is one of many natural springs in the area. We jump in and cool off in these stunning lagoons and get some pictures that will make your friends back home seriously jealous.

    Day 4 — Sardine Run

    Rested and refreshed from a good night's sleep, enjoy a relaxed morning laying by the pool or head out and explore then, we'll meet after lunch to snorkel with thousands of sardines on a "sardine run" - this will take your breath away! Afterwards, we'll have dinner and drinks and reminisce over some of the amazing things we've done already and it's only day 4!

    Day 5 — Port Barton

    This morning we hop on our bus and make our way back to Cebu City where we board our last flight of the tour to visit our final destination, making our way to Palawan voted one of the best islands in the world, Palawan. As soon as we land we will travel by private bus to Port Barton a beautiful fishing village. After checking into our amazing beachfront hotel we will head out for dinner and a few drinks for sunset.

    Day 6 — Port Barton

    On Day 6, we head out on our very own local sailing boat to cruise around the beautiful island of Port Barton, Palawan. We get the chance to explore some hidden beaches, indulge in a fresh homemade Filipino lunch prepared by our Local boat crew and snorkel in the blue quartz waters. In the evening, we enjoy our meal and party.

    Day 7 — Port Barton

    A little bit of TLC style let's go chasing waterfalls. Grab your walking shoes, we will explore the untouched jungle in San Vicente and you will be rewarded with a refreshing plunge in the mesmerising Pamuayan Waterfall. Time to head to the beach and chill out, so grab yourself a drink, lounge about or even play some beach games in the sun.

    Day 8 — El Nido & Las Cabanas beach

    After an amazing 3 days in Port Barton, it's time for a 3 hour's drive to El Nido. This coastal settlement boasts clear waters, jungle, steep limestone cliffs and stunning coves which will be our home until the end of our tour. Once we've checked into our amazing last hotel that boasts a rooftop to die for with 360 views of El Nido and the infinity pool overlooking some of the best sunsets. Philippines has to offer, it's time to take a short journey to Las Cabanas beach to chill and watch a beautiful sunset, for you adrenaline junkies we have an optional activity 'Ziplining where you fly head first to the beach!

    Day 9 — Island Hopping

    The Philippines is famed for its many beautiful islands and today we get to explore some of them. We'll spend the day on our local boat whilst stopping off at some truly stunning beaches, where we can enjoy some snorkelling and kayaking. We also get the chance to visit the breathtaking "Small and Big Lagoons" which are among some of the most picturesque places on the planet! After an amazing day, its time to go and explore more of El Nido with your amazing group.

    Day 10 — Nacpan Beach

    Today is about catching your breath, working on your tan on a stunning beach decorated with coconut trees and reflecting on where you are. We can enjoy some beach games with the rest of your awesome groupies. Then we'll catch the sunset from one of the best spots before heading back to check out El Nido by night.
    Cooking Class & Lio Beach
    In the morning, we'll kick off the day by cooking an authentic Filipino dish, immersing ourselves in the local flavors and traditions. The great part is we can feast this yummy food we create on our own !
    Then, we'll head back to explore the white sandy beach and soak up the sun, we'll reflect on the amazing experiences we've shared and the memories we've created. We'll take time to appreciate the beautiful surroundings and the unique culture of the island. You can enjoy some beach games with your awesome Wanderlands groupies before we catch the sunset from one of the best spots on the island. Then we'll head back in town to the vibrant nightlife of El Nido by night.

    Day 11 — Nacpan Beach

    Today, we take a moment to reflect and fully absorb the island vibes as we head to the stunning Nacpan Beach, soaking up the sun one last time. It's the perfect opportunity to savor the beauty of the Philippines and the adventures we've experienced together.­
    In the evening, we'll gather for our farewell dinner, raising a glass to our incredible journey and the new friendships we've made along the way. We'll dance the night away, enjoying our final moments together before saying our goodbyes and returning to our respective homes.
    ­It will be bittersweet to leave, but we'll part with full hearts and memories that will last a lifetime.

    Day 12 — El Nido

    It's time to say goodbye and end our unforgettable 12 day trip! After check out your group leader will sit down with you and help plan any onward travel whether you plan to stay in the Philippines, visit other destinations in Southeast Asia or just go home we are here to help and assist you with your next adventure.

Room allocation is 4 bed dorms at the hostels (Manila) and twins (shared with someone of the same gender) or double rooms (for couples only) at Cebu, Port Barton and El Nido.   • FAQs
    Where can I stay if I arrive before the start date?
    - You can stay at the hotel we use for the start of the tour called Lub D Makati. The costs will be 650 PHP for a dorm room and 1900 PHP for a private room which will need to be paid with local money on arrival. 
    What are the room allocations?
    - Manila: 4 bed mixed dormitory; Cebu Moalboal: twin/ doubles; Port Barton: twin/doubles; El Nido: twins/triples. 
    What if I wish to book a private room?
    - We can look into private rooms for you, but it depends on the availability at each location. Rates for private rooms are as follows: Manila Hostel (Lub D Makati): 1800PHP per night (1 night); Cebu Moalboal Hotel (Sole Mare): 1760PHP per night (3 nights); Port Barto: 4000 PHP for standard room and 4500 PHP for deluxe room (3nights); El Nido Hotel (Cuna Hotel): 5250PHP per night for a twin/doubles room (4 nights). 
    Is there Wi-Fi available in our hotels?
    - Yes, there is wifi in every hotel we stay but you can also buy a local sim card (not from the airport) and have mobile data. This sim card can be purchased at the airport or in most convenience stores.
    What kind of accommodation do we stay in?
    - We stay in 3 hotels and 1 hostel. They all have air conditioning and are clean, comfortable, good showers and tidy.
    Are flights included in the price?
    - International flights aren't included however we are happy to help you with advice on what flight time you should get. All domestic flights are included. Each flight  includes checked baggage totaling 20kg per person.
    Where does the tour start?
    - Manila.
    Where does the tour finish?
    - El Nido. 
    Is airport pick up included?
    - Yes, airport pick up is included for those arriving on the tour start date or one day before, and if you've booked pre accommodation at our first hotel in Manila - Lub D Makati Manila. 
    From what time should I book my flight out of Manila?
    - After 8 PM on day 12.
    How do I get back to Manila?
    - The main way to get back to Manila is by flight. You can fly back to Manila from either El Nido (ENI) or Puerto Princesa (PPS). The transfer to El Nido will be faster but flights from Puerto Princesa will be cheaper.
    - El Nido: You will need to get a tuk tuk from the hotel and it takes 15/20 mins to El Nido airport. Approx price is 300 PHP or 700PHP for a private van transfer. The only airline that operates flights between El Nido and Manila is Air Swift https://air-swift.com/.
    - Puerto Princesa: You'll first need to get a van shuttle to Puerto Princesa, then fly to Manila. The shuttle will take approx. 4 - 5 hours with a shared public van transfer for 700PHP per person. The shared transfer leaves at 8 - 9am, meaning you can catch a flight from PPS after 6 pm to avoid missing your flight.
    How do I book onward travel and when should I book flights?
    - In regard to booking flights after the tour, we strongly suggest booking your onwards flight to leave from Manila after 8 PM local time. Therefore, on the last day of the tour get a 6 pm (or later) flight to leave from Puerto Princesa airport to Manila, leaving you plenty of time to get to the airport. Also take into account that domestic flights can be delayed.
    How to go from the airport to the hotel if I arrive 2 days prior the tour starts?
    - From the airport to the Hotel in Manila the cheapest way is to get a regular taxi from the airport, ask a security guard for help. If you are going to Lub'D Makati it should cost you around 400PHP. If you have pre-accommodation at our first hotel in Manila and would like to be picked up more than 1 day before your start date, we can organise our driver to pick you up from the airport and drop you off at the hotel. This private airport pickup to Lub’D Makati will cost you 1300 PHP.
    What meals are included?
    - Daily breakfast and lunch during the Port Barton and El Nido Island Hopping Excursion.
    How much spending money will I need?
    - In relation to "how much money should I bring" - It depends how much money you want to spend on food & drink etc. The majority of destinations that we go to will have ATMs around so you are able to take money out within the country. You may need to make your bank aware of your travels to make sure you are not overcharged for taking money out abroad.
    How much should we expect to pay for food and drink?
    - Street food and fast food costs around 70 PHP - 180 PHP. Sit down meals in a restaurant is around 210 PHP - 530 PHP. For drinks, it costs around 70 PHP - 300 PHP.
    What are the sizes of groups? And roughly what age?
    - The size of our groups vary, but on average they range from around 8 – 16 people and have an array of ages from between 18-39. Our tour encourages solo travelers as well as groups and couples so there is a group dynamic of solo travelers, groups and couples on our tour.
    How do I go about getting a visa?
    - The Philippines grants a 30-day visa-free entry to passport holders of most major countries including most EU nations as well as the US, Canada & Australia.     - If you wish to stay longer than 30 days in the Philippines then you can extend your visa by applying here: http://www.immigration.gov.ph/visa-requirements/non-immigrant-visa/temporary-visitor-visa/visa-waiver.
    Can I store my luggage at the first hotel?
    - Yes! Lub D Hostel allows us free access to their Luggage Storage room. You can store any excess luggage there in Manila if you plan on coming back to the hostel before your departure.
    What time is the check in at the first hotel?
    - You're welcome to arrive anytime at our first hostel, but check-in is at 2PM. However, Lub D' Makati Hostel does have both luggage storage and a movie room with couches and free Netflix access if you do arrive early!
    How much is the ziplining in El Nido?
    - 500PHP for sitting, 700PHP for "superman" style.
    When is the whale shark season?
    - Best sightings are from February to April which is also the busiest time. Whale sharks can sometimes be seen as early as November and as late as June.
    Can I go Scuba diving while on tour?
    - Absolutely. There are 2 locations where you can scuba dive. The first is in Moalboal with Amigos Dive Centre. If you are not certified your fun dive will cost 3,000PHP & if you are certified the cost will be 1,400PHP. The second location is in El Nido where you can dive after the tour with Palawan Dive Centre. They offer a day package of 3 fun dives for 4,800PHP if you are not certified & if you are certified the cost will be 4,300PHP (this excludes a marine park entrance fee of 200PHP). They also offer open water & advanced open water courses.
    Is there anywhere I could do an activity to help the environment?
    - In Port Barton, you can participate and donate to a Dog Sanctuary Centre.
