## Important general notes

- Every Nepali-language document MUST be accompanied by a notary-certified English translation — embassies will reject untranslated originals. Use a Nepal Bar Council–registered translator and have each translation notarised by a Notary Public.
- Income proof for Ukrainian visas: ANY ONE of the four Nepal-side income bundles is sufficient (Business OR Salary OR Pension OR Rental) -- no need to submit all four. Pick the bundle that matches your active income source.
- Nepali ordinary passport holders MUST apply for a Ukrainian visa BEFORE travel -- Nepal is on Ukraine's visa-required list. There is NO visa-on-arrival, NO eTA, and NO visa-waiver agreement.
- CRITICAL Nepal advantage -- VFS Global Ukraine has a KATHMANDU centre (visa.vfsglobal.com/npl/en/ukr). Nepali applicants lodge visa applications IN NEPAL, no travel to New Delhi required for intake. Embassy of Ukraine New Delhi adjudicates and returns the visa via VFS courier.
- CRITICAL CAVEAT -- Ukraine has been at WAR with Russia since 24 February 2022. As of 2026, the conflict is ongoing. Tourist travel is NOT operationally feasible in active-conflict regions; western Ukraine (Lviv / Ivano-Frankivsk / Uzhhorod) and Kyiv remain accessible but face periodic missile / drone alerts. Western governments advise AGAINST all travel. Travel insurance commonly EXCLUDES war-risk coverage -- verify policy wording carefully before applying.
- Ukraine is NOT in the EU or Schengen as of 2026 (EU candidate status granted 23 June 2022; full membership negotiations ongoing). Ukrainian visas do NOT confer Schengen entry, and Schengen visas do not provide visa-free access to Ukraine.
- Ukrainian visas governed by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 567/2017 (Visa Procedure Rules, consolidated through 2024 amendments) + Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons".
- Standard visa fees (consolidated 2024): Type B Transit USD 65 single / 130 double / 195 multi. Type C Short-term USD 65 / 130 / 195 by entry pattern. Type D Long-term USD 85 single + DMS-issued residence permit in-country. Double rates apply for urgent (5-day express) processing.
- Common Nepali activity in Ukraine PRE-2022: predominantly medical-degree-seekers (~3,000 Nepali students enrolled at Ukrainian medical universities pre-war -- Bogomolets / Kharkiv / Vinnytsia / Sumy / Ternopil). POST-2022 most evacuated; some shifted to Polish / Hungarian / Slovak / Romanian universities under partnership transfer agreements. New Nepali enrollments to Ukrainian medical universities have largely paused as of 2026 due to ongoing conflict.
- Always disclose prior visa refusals (any country) -- non-disclosure is grounds for refusal + future-application bar.
- Nepal joined the Hague Apostille Convention on 14 March 2024 -- Ukraine is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention (since 2003). Both parties Hague-aligned simplifies document chains: Nepal MoFA apostille is accepted directly by Ukrainian authorities.
- Travel from Kyiv (KBP / IEV airports CLOSED to civilian traffic since Feb 2022). Active alternate routes: enter via Polish border (Krakow / Warsaw + train to Lviv) or Romanian border (Bucharest + bus / train to Chernivtsi / Lviv) or Slovak border (Kosice + bus to Uzhhorod). Confirm current entry options before travel.
