## Overview

VFS Global in India is 'Trusted by Emirates and the Government of Dubai' and handles Dubai visas for travellers flying Emirates; selection of visa category is based on the Emirates ticket itinerary. Applicants fill the offline visa application form and submit it with mandatory documents at a VFS visa application centre after booking an appointment. Applicants must qualify under one eligibility criterion: travel record, financial records, or invitation from an immediate family member residing in the UAE. UAE embassies do not issue tourist visas: outside this VFS/Emirates route, tourist visas are arranged by UAE airlines, hotels or licensed travel agents or applied for online with ICP or GDRFA Dubai, while work, study and residence visas are applied for by the UAE employer, university or sponsor.

## Visa on arrival, eVisa and visa-free entry

- **Visa on arrival:** Available only to Indian ordinary-passport holders who hold a valid US visa or Green Card, a UK or EU visa/residence permit, or a residence permit from Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore or New Zealand: they can get a 14-day visa at any UAE entry point (AED 100, extendable once). Other Indians must arrange a visa before travel through VFS/Emirates, a UAE airline, hotel or travel agent, or ICP/GDRFA online.
- **eVisa / online visa:** Available: any Indian can apply online with ICP or GDRFA Dubai for the self-sponsored 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa (USD 4,000 bank balance over 6 months, UAE health insurance, onward ticket), and Indians holding a qualifying US/UK/EU or other listed visa/residence permit can get the 60-day visa online from ICP (AED 250 + AED 100) or apply through smart.gdrfad.gov.ae. Shorter tourist visas are applied for on your behalf by a UAE airline (VFS for Emirates passengers), hotel or travel agent. Indians resident in a GCC country apply online (ICP or GDRFA Dubai) for the GCC-resident eVisa before arrival: valid 30 days from issue, 30-day stay, extendable once; GCC residency must be valid at least 1 year and the passport at least 6 months, and the profession must be on the approved list (u.ae, updated 1 October 2026).
- **Visa-free entry:** No: the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs' visa information list marks the Republic of India 'Visa Required'. Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa arranged before travel, unless they hold a valid US visa or Green Card, a UK or EU visa/residence permit, or a residence permit from Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore or New Zealand, which qualifies them for a 14-day visa on arrival (AED 100).
