## Overview

The 30-day visa exemption for Indian ordinary passport holders for tourism and short-term business engagements remains effective from 15 September 2026 until further announcement (Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi). Per the Embassy, with the e-Visa system in effect since 1 January 2025, all applicants are required to apply through https://www.thaievisa.go.th. VFS Global, official partner of the Embassy of Thailand in India, runs visa application centres under the jurisdictions of the Royal Thai Consulates-General in Chennai (Chennai, Bengaluru, Cochin, Hyderabad), Kolkata, and Mumbai (Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad), each publishing its own categories, fees and checklists.

## Visa on arrival, eVisa and visa-free entry

- **Visa on arrival:** Not available: under the scheme effective 15 September 2026, Thailand's Visa on Arrival (15 days, THB 2,000) covers only Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia; Indian ordinary passport holders are instead on the 30-day visa-exemption list (Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi).
- **eVisa / online visa:** Available: since 1 January 2025 every Thai visa for applicants in India is applied for online at https://www.thaievisa.go.th; applicants can apply themselves or through processing companies such as VFS Global, BLS International or DU Digital, or travel agents (Royal Thai Embassy New Delhi; Consulate-General Kolkata guideline). The e-Visa covers every visa type except the Privilege Entry Visa for Thailand Elite members, for which applicants contact the Embassy or Consulates-General (Embassy e-Visa FAQ, September 2026).
- **Visa-free entry:** Yes: Indian ordinary passport holders may enter visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism and short-term business from 15 September 2026 until further announcement; longer stays need a visa. All passengers must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (tdac.immigration.go.th), which foreigners must submit 3 days in advance of their arrival date.
