## Overview

Citizens of India require a visa (holders of diplomatic passports exempt for short stays). Short-stay (C) Schengen applications can be lodged at VFS Global centres in India or at the Embassy of Slovenia in New Delhi; applications must be submitted by the applicants themselves, with fingerprints collected in person. Long-stay (D) visa applications and documents must be submitted in person (embassy page); residence permits are decided by Administrative Units in Slovenia. VFS notes walk-in submission between 1200-1400 hrs at all locations. Applicants who apply directly at the Embassy in New Delhi need a confirmed appointment, requested by e-mail to consular.newdelhi@gov.si with name, surname, date of birth, passport number and the service required.

## Visa on arrival, eVisa and visa-free entry

- **Visa on arrival:** Not available: the Embassy of Slovenia in New Delhi states that citizens of India require a visa (only diplomatic passport holders are exempt for short stays); a Schengen C visa (up to 90 days in any 180-day period, issued as a sticker in the passport) must be obtained before travel through VFS Global or the Embassy.
- **eVisa / online visa:** Not available: Slovenia issues no eVisa to Indians. Short-stay applications are lodged in person at VFS Global centres in India (walk-in) or at the Embassy in New Delhi, fingerprints are collected in person, and the visa is a sticker attached to the passport.
- **Visa-free entry:** Not available for ordinary passports: the Embassy says citizens of India require a visa, with an exception only for holders of diplomatic passports on short stays. Among the region's nationals, the Embassy lists an airport transit visa requirement only for citizens of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, not India.
