## Overview

Visa applications are submitted personally at VFS Global Visa Application Centres; travel agents may not submit Schengen applications and fingerprints are taken from applicants aged 12+. The Embassy of Poland in New Delhi handles residents of northern/eastern states (incl. Delhi NCR, Punjab, UP, West Bengal, Rajasthan) and the Consulate General in Mumbai handles residents of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and others. Appointments are booked on the VFS website (New Delhi slots released every Wednesday at 11:00; Mumbai once a month, two months in advance) and the online application form must be filled at eforms.vfsglobal.com and carried to the centre. For national (D) visas for work and study, applicants first register on the e-Konsulat portal (work-visa slots are allocated by electronic draw, study-visa slots in order of registration), then complete the VFS online form and submit in person at the VFS centre on the assigned date.

## Visa on arrival, eVisa and visa-free entry

- **Visa on arrival:** Not available: India is on the EU list of countries whose nationals must hold a visa when crossing the Schengen external borders, so Indians need a Polish visa issued before travel; applications are submitted personally at a VFS Global visa application centre in India.
- **eVisa / online visa:** Not available: Poland has no eVisa for Indians. Applications are registered online (VFS website, or e-Konsulat for work and study national visas) but must be submitted personally at a VFS centre, and the missions do not accept applications by fax, post or e-mail; an EU-wide online visa platform will become mandatory only after a 7-year transition period.
- **Visa-free entry:** Not available: Indian passport holders need a visa for Poland and the rest of the Schengen area (India is in Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2018/1806); the application is submitted personally at a VFS Global centre in India.

### Notes on sources

- visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/pol/ returned HTTP 403; used VFS one-pager at www.vfsglobal.com
- Lakshadweep is not listed in the area covered by either the Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulate General in Mumbai
- VFS one-pager still states national (D) processing may be prolonged to 45 days; the Embassy's D-visa pages say 30 days – the record follows the Embassy
- Separate checklists for PhD/researchers (beyond the study checklist, which covers PhD students) and TRC Collection not found; D-Others covers applicants awaiting a TRC decision
- No official minimum bank balance for short-stay (C) visas found on the Embassy/VFS pages; EU reference amounts (Official Journal) could not be fetched
- Work-permit procedure in Poland (employer application to the voivode, fees, timelines) not researched; the record only covers the visa stage
