## Overview

Citizens of India must obtain an ordinary visa before entering Georgia for short-term visits. It is possible to obtain it without visiting a Georgian Embassy or Consular Office by applying through the official e-Visa Portal (evisa.gov.ge), or to apply through the Embassy of Georgia in India, where all documents are submitted via VFS Global after filling the online application at geoconsul.gov.ge (the VFS payment receipt must then be uploaded to the Georgian portal). Transit through Georgia also requires a visa, and Immigration (long-term D) visas are applied for at the Embassy of Georgia in India via VFS. The Embassy of Georgia is at 169 Jor Bagh, New Delhi 110003 (tel +91 11 49 49 60 00, hotline +91-92054-88477, email delhi.emb@mfa.gov.ge).

- The employer (local employer) applies; decision within 30 calendar days of a complete application; service fee up to GEL 500

- The worker's registration code in the Ministry's unified labour-migration database is required; a D1 application without it is not accepted
- All long-term visas: 4 months' valid travel and health insurance; documents in Georgian or English (or notarised translation), apostilled by the MEA where required
- D1 visa: multiple entries, 90 calendar days' validity and stay; workers already registered on 1 March 2026 must obtain the right to work and a residence permit by 1 January 2027
