## Overview

The Faroe Islands have no separate visa channel in India: applications go to a Danish diplomatic mission or a representation processing visas for Denmark – in India, the Embassy of Denmark in New Delhi via VFS Global Denmark centres. Citizens of visa-requiring countries need a visa whose sticker states it is valid for the Faroe Islands; a Danish/Schengen visa is not valid for entry to the Faroe Islands. The procedure is the same as for a Danish visa and only one application form is needed even if a Schengen visa is applied for at the same time, with documentation of the planned stay in the Faroe Islands included. VFS Global Denmark (India) lists 'Greenland and Faroe Islands' among long-term applications it accepts for the Embassy. VFS Denmark (India) requires the online application and visa fee payment to be completed before an appointment can be booked, and validation can take up to 24 hours before the appointment calendar opens.

## Visa on arrival, eVisa and visa-free entry

- **eVisa / online visa:** Not available: there is no the Faroe Islands eVisa. Indians need a visa sticker in the passport stating it is valid for the Faroe Islands; the form and EUR fee are completed online at applyvisa.um.dk, but documents and biometrics must then be handed in person at a VFS Denmark centre.
- **Visa-free entry:** Conditional: a Danish or other Schengen visa is not valid for the Faroe Islands, so Indians need a visa valid for the Faroe Islands.
