## Overview

VFS Global is the official partner of the Embassy of Denmark in India; applications are decided by the Embassy in New Delhi. Applicants fill in the visa application and pay the visa fee online at applyvisa.um.dk, print and sign the ApplyVisa cover letter, then submit supporting documents and biometrics at a VFS Visa Application Centre by appointment (Red Carpet business applicants can attend without an appointment). In peak season (March–September) the Embassy recommends submitting to VFS at least 4 weeks in advance.

- Visa fee payment receipt printed from https://applyvisa.um.dk/
- One recent (less than six months old) passport-size colour photograph, 3.5cm x 4.5cm
- Passport valid at least three months beyond intended stay in Schengen, with at least two blank pages, issued within the previous 10 years
- Copy of Schengen visas and entry/exit stamps from previous passports
- Overseas travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries, at least 30,000 Euros, covering the entire trip
- Flight reservations of return or round ticket (intra-Schengen reservations if visiting several states); Embassy recommends not buying tickets before visa approval
- Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the stay
- Original personal bank statement for the last three months, stamped and signed by the bank (all applicants); must show means of DKK 350 per day (private home) or DKK 500 per day (hotel)
- Indian income tax return acknowledgment for the last two assessment years
- Employed: payslips for last three months, employment contract, holiday approval/leave letter
- Company owner/self-employed: certificate of registration of the company including GST registration number
- Sponsored: proof of sponsorship (tourist checklist: plus sponsor's letter and copy of sponsor's photo ID)
- Retired: pension statements for last three months; proof of regular income from property or business
- Minors: copy of birth certificate, notarised consent of non-travelling parent(s)/guardians, copies of both parents' passports or IDs
- All documents submitted in colour on A4 paper; an additional copy of passport ID page for passport collection

### Tourist / Non Professional Visa

- Cover letter stipulating purpose, duration, accompanying persons, transport and accommodation
- Certificate of the travel agency confirming an organised trip or other document indicating travel plans
- Cruise passengers: cruise ticket and payment receipt
- Marriage certificate if travelling with spouse and status not in passport; ration card copy if applicable
- Students: certificates of enrolment

### Business Visa

- Covering letter from the Indian organisation/company (identity, purpose, period and place of stay)
- Signed invitation from the inviting party with contact details; host may use the online invitation form on nyidanmark.dk

### Red Carpet

- Annex C – Red Carpet Cover Letter signed, dated and stamped by an authorised signatory
- Signed invitation from the inviting party
- No appointment needed at VACs on operational days

### Visiting Family and Friends

- Cover letter from the applicant
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate if visiting spouse; certificate of family relationship if visiting relatives)
- Invitation from host – Embassy recommends online VU2 invitation form
- Evidence of legal residence of host: copy of passport and residence permit card

### Study/Sports/Cultural Visa

- Covering letter from the Indian organisation/school (name, DOB, itinerary, purpose, relevance to studies, period)
- Copy of student cards or certificates
- Invitation, entry ticket or enrolment confirmation – preferably online VU3 form

### Transit Visa (Seaman)

- Invitation from the shipping company/maritime agency in Denmark (seafarer details, vessel, ports and dates, itinerary, Indian agency, responsibility undertaking)
- Covering letter and list of seafarers if submitted by an Indian shipping agency
- Flight reservation; proof of accommodation if overnight stay
- Employment contract/appointment letter

### Transit Visa / Airport Transit Visa

- Passport valid three months past visa expiry, issued within 10 years
- Proof of means of transport, proof of lodging, proof of financial means
- Children under 18 travelling without one/both parents: affidavit signed by parent(s) not travelling plus copy of parent's passport first and last page

Overseas travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries covering at least 30,000 Euros for all risks (accident, illness, medical emergency evacuation etc.), covering the entire trip including arrival and departure dates.
