## Overview

Croatia has fully applied the Schengen acquis since 1 January 2023 and its Embassy in New Delhi (A-15 West End) issues Schengen (A and C) and national (D) visas. Applications are submitted through VFS Global centres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad after filling the online form at crovisa.mvep.hr. Applications can be submitted up to 6 months before travel by the applicant (or parent/guardian for minors); tourist applications with less than 45 days to travel (business: less than 60 days) are not accepted per Mission instruction. Appointments are booked online with VFS: the fee paid when booking is non-refundable once the appointment is confirmed (one reschedule is allowed if slots are available), and personal appearance is mandatory for all C and D applications.

## Visa on arrival, eVisa and visa-free entry

- **Visa on arrival:** Not available: citizens of India need a Croatian visa (Schengen C or national D) obtained before travel. VFS India states that Indian citizens visiting Croatia are required to have a visa, and India is on the EU visa-required list (Annex I, Regulation (EU) 2018/1806) that Croatia applies as a full Schengen member since 1 January 2023.
- **eVisa / online visa:** Not available: Croatia has no eVisa. Indians fill in the visa application form online at crovisa.mvep.hr, then print and sign it and submit it in person, with supporting documents and fingerprints, at a VFS centre in India; only the form-filling step is online.
- **Visa-free entry:** Not available: citizens of India need a visa for Croatia (VFS India). Croatia has fully applied Schengen since 1 January 2023, so a short stay counts toward the Schengen limit of 90 days in any 180-day period, and Croatia no longer applies its earlier Decision 565/2014/EU arrangement.

### Notes on sources

- visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/hrv returned HTTP 403; used vfsglobal.com one-pager
- MFA Croatia visa page fetched but contains only navigation; India-specific details taken from VFS pages and the Embassy precondition document hosted on VFS
- Precondition document (Feb 2025) contains outdated pre-Schengen notice (Decision 565/2014/EU), superseded by VFS notice on full Schengen application from 1 Jan 2023
- Processing time statements on VFS page are internally inconsistent (30 vs 45 vs 60 days)
- Cultural/Sport Events and per-category checklist PDFs not individually extracted
- VFS page's digital nomad fund figure is garbled ('28.1054,00 hrk or around 4000 Euro'); the Ministry of the Interior's current figure (EUR 3,622.50 a month, or EUR 43,470 for 12 months) is used in routes
- Form 16 is not mentioned on any official Croatia checklist fetched (VFS one-pager, tourist checklist 2026); income proof listed is salary slips, bank statements and ITR.
- VFS tourist checklist 2026 asks for one photograph and valid return flight reservations/tickets, while the VFS one-pager asks for two photographs and reservations only - check the latest checklist at submission.
- Honorary consulates in Mumbai and Kolkata: MFA page gives contacts only; no visa services stated.
- Ministry of the Interior lists EUR 55.74 for granting temporary stay at a diplomatic mission (digital nomad page), while VFS India's Resident Permit fee is EUR 67.02 / INR 7600
- VFS's older 'schedule-an-appointment' page says no appointment is needed, but the linked booking page, the earliest-appointment tool and VFS notices describe online appointment booking
- No published minimum bank balance for students or tourists was found on the Ministry, Embassy or VFS pages checked (only the digital nomad amount)
