## Itinerary

### Day 1: Golden Circle & Kerid Volcanic Crater

You'll explore the Golden Circle, visiting Geysers , Gullfoss Waterfall , and Þingvellir National Park , with an added stop at the Volcanic Crater Kerið for a unique experience. Þingvellir National Park, part of the mid-Atlantic ridge, offers the rare opportunity to stand with one foot in Europe and the other in America, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in Icelandic and Viking history. You'll visit the Geysir area, where Strokkur erupts every 5 to 10 minutes, sending water 20 to 30 meters into the air, with refreshments available nearby. From there, you'll head to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, renowned for its powerful and beautiful descent into an ancient valley. The day concludes with a visit to the Volcanic Crater Kerið, featuring a colorful lake at its base, before staying overnight on the South Coast, where you might witness the Northern Lights if weather permits.

### Day 2: South Coast Waterfalls & Black Beach

After an overnight stay in the countryside, you'll drive along Route 1, passing through small towns and enjoying the beauty of Iceland's South Coast. Your first stop is the renowned Seljalandsfoss waterfall , located beneath the Eyjafjallajokull volcano, with the lesser-known Gljufrabui waterfall nearby. Next, you'll visit the impressive Skogafoss , a 60-meter drop of natural power, followed by the hidden Írafoss waterfall. Then, it's on to Reynisfjara , a black sand beach under Mt. Reynisfjall, home to seasonal puffins and the striking Reynisdrangar formations, where the Atlantic's powerful waves demand caution. At the day's end, you'll settle into your countryside accommodation, perfectly situated in an area with low light pollution, offering an ideal setting to view the Northern Lights if they appear. Your guide will provide insights on the best times to step outside and catch a glimpse of the aurora.

### Day 3: Glacier Lagoon & Blue Ice Cave

Today begins with a morning drive to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon , where massive ice chunks from Breiðamerkurjökull glacier float out to sea, and some rest on the black sand like diamonds. From here, your adventure to a stunning Blue Ice cave begins, as local experts guide you through the Icelandic highlands in a Super Jeep to explore the magical caves for about an hour. After this unforgettable experience, you return to Jökulsárlón to rejoin the bus and head to the Hofskirkja Turf Church . On the way back to Reykjavik , enjoy the South Coast's beauty, stop in Vik for refreshments, and watch for the Northern Lights if conditions permit.

### Day 4: The Silver Circle of West Iceland

Today, we'll visit Borgarfjordur , known for its connection to the Icelandic Sagas, where you'll see Deildartunguhver , Europe's most powerful hot spring. We'll then explore Reykholt , a historic site in Icelandic folklore, featuring Snorralaug, an ancient hot spring, and a traditional timber church. Next, we'll marvel at the awe-inspiring Hraunfossar waterfalls and nearby Barnafoss , with its tragic history. For lunch, we'll stop at Husafell , a charming spot with Viking history, traditional turf houses, and the legendary "Husafell Stone." At the end of the day, an attraction of your choice awaits you. Either from Húsafell, you will be taken to the Viðgelmir Lava Cave to explore an astonishing lava cave system deep underground, filled with fascinating ice formations, stalactites, and stalagmites, or relax like a Viking in the fabulous Canyon Baths deep in the Deildargil canyon. Simply choose your option during the booking process.

### Day 5: The Magnificent Snaefellsnes National Park

Day 5 begins with a scenic drive to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula , often called "Iceland in miniature" for its diverse geology in a compact area. This region, featured on Lonely Planet's TOP 10 Regions in the World 2015 list, offers charming fishing villages, the towering Snæfellsjökull volcano, and the chance to spot seals at Ytri-Tunga Beach. You'll also visit Djúpalónssandur , a stunning black sand beach, and the iconic Kirkjufell mountain with its picturesque waterfall. On the way to Reykjavík , you'll pass by Whale Fjord and travel through a tunnel 165 meters below it.
