# Tirana's Mini-Everest - Mali i Vrapit Hike and Village Lunch

## About

Discover the little-known Tirana Valleys on this unique 10km hike! We'll meet in Tirana at 09.00, then make a 14km transfer to a small village, where our hike begins (after an espresso in the local café, of course). We'll ascend on old mule paths, walking through olive groves and alongside a small stream, till we reach a hidden plateau used only by local goatherds.

From here we'll climb up to reach the peak of Mali i Vrapit - not a mountain, technically, but a large hill (660m). Please be aware, there is no defined path to the peak, so we'll be walking on sometimes rough limestone.

After taking in the views, we'll find our way down to the nearest village, which even in 2026 has no asphalt road connections. Here make our way to the local café, and enjoy a lunch prepared by the owner's mother. All the ingredients are raised or grown in the village, including the cheeses and wonderful olive oil.

To get back down to "civilisation" we'll use the village minibus - an ancient Mercedes well suited to the rough road, and driven by the amazing Beni. The drive down to asphalt is a little under 10km, but takes about 40 minutes! There'll be time to enjoy a final beer before making our way back to Tirana.
