## About

Step into the fiery world of traditional craftsmanship and learn the ancient art of forging Nepal’s legendary Khukuri knife. Guided by an experienced blacksmith in Kathmandu, this hands-on workshop gives you the chance to witness and participate in a cultural tradition that has shaped Nepalese identity for centuries.

Visit a traditional blacksmith’s forge in Kathmandu, where fire, iron, and skill come together to create this historic weapon. Your host, a master blacksmith from a family of generations of artisans, will introduce you to the tools, techniques, and stories behind Khukuri-making. Learn how the raw iron is heated, hammered into shape, tempered, and sharpened to perfection.

Depending on your preference, help in the forging process—swinging the hammer, shaping the blade, or polishing the finished product. For beginners, a smaller souvenir-size Khukuri is often created, which you can take home. For those who want a deeper experience, assist in the crafting of a full-sized Khukuri under expert supervision.

Throughout the experience, your blacksmith will share fascinating insights into the Khukuri’s role in Nepali culture, from the Gurkha soldiers’ battlefields to its everyday uses in rural households.
