## About

Journey overland from Kathmandu to the roof of the world on this 13-day pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Crossing the Nepal-Tibet border at Kerung, you drive through the sweeping landscapes of the Tibetan Plateau — vast grasslands, nomadic yak herders, and remote monasteries — before arriving at Darchen, the gateway to the Kailash Kora.

The centrepiece of the journey is the sacred 52 km circumambulation (Kora) around Mount Kailash, revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and followers of the Bon tradition. Over three days you walk the western face of Kailash, cross the Dolma La Pass at 5,636 m, and complete the circuit through the eastern valley. Horse and porter support are available for those who need assistance.

You will also spend time on the shores of Lake Mansarovar (4,590 m) — one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world — for rituals, reflection, and a visit to Chiu Monastery perched above the turquoise water. Your journey begins with Pashupatinath Temple Aarti Darshan in Kathmandu, setting the spiritual tone from day one.

All three Tibet permits are fully arranged: China Group Visa, Tibet Travel Permit, and Alien Travel Permit. Our experienced Nepali team leader and local Tibetan guide manage every detail of the overland crossing, plateau travel, and Kora logistics so you can focus entirely on the pilgrimage.
