## About

Begin your trek with a short drive from Pokhara to Kande, followed by a gentle ascent to Deurali. From there, the trail leads through Forest Camp and Low Camp, offering the first glimpses of Machhapuchhre through breaks in the forest.

As you climb to High Camp at around 3,600 meters, the views expand dramatically, with mountains dominating the horizon. The most memorable day is the hike from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp and back, which brings you face-to-face with some of the most awe-inspiring mountain scenery in Nepal.

The descent usually follows a different route, passing through Siding village before driving back to Pokhara, adding a cultural dimension to the journey.

Accommodation along the Mardi Himal trail is simple but welcoming, consisting mainly of local tea houses. These family-run lodges provide basic twin rooms with clean bedding, though a warm sleeping bag is recommended for comfort at higher altitudes. Toilets are usually shared, and while some lodges have western-style facilities, squat toilets are still common.

Meals are hearty and filling, with options like dal bhat (rice with lentils and vegetables), noodles, soups, momos, and omelets, ensuring you have enough energy for the long days of walking. Electricity and Wi-Fi are available in some places, though usually at an additional cost, and the connection can be unreliable in the higher sections of the trek.
