## Article

Korea now publishes its visa fees for India in rupees. The Embassy's notice of 13 July 2026 superseded the USD/INR table that the Consulate General in Chennai introduced on 1 June 2025. The figures below are as published on the official sources, checked on 15 October 2026. For documents and the application route, see our South Korea visa guide for Indians.

### What is the Korean tourist visa fee in rupees from 1 August 2026?
VisaNormal feeExpress feeShort-term single entry (up to 90 days)INR 3,600Rs. 6300Double entry (Mumbai-jurisdiction centres only)INR 6300.00INR 9900.00Multiple entryINR 8,100Rs. 11700Long-term single entry (more than 90 days; not a tourist visa)INR 5,400Rs. 8100Normal fees are from the Embassy notice effective 1 August 2026; express fees are from the Korean Visa Application Centre (KVAC) page. The double-entry fee appears only on the VFS page for Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa and Hyderabad (October 2026), not on the Embassy notice or the Chennai/Bengaluru page.

### How much did the fee go up?
Modestly. Here is the change against the Chennai consulate's table from 1 June 2025:

VisaFrom 1 June 2025 (Chennai consulate)CurrentSingle entry, up to 90 daysUSD 40 / INR 3,400INR 3,600Single entry, more than 90 daysUSD 60 / INR 5,100INR 5,400Multiple entryUSD 90 / INR 7,650INR 8,100Express single entry, up to 90 daysUSD 70 / INR 5,950Rs. 6300
### What VFS service charge do you pay on top?
The service charge depends on which Korean office covers your state, and the official pages do not all agree.

- Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa and Hyderabad (Consulate General in Mumbai jurisdiction): Rs. 1000 per person, inclusive of all taxes (October 2026).
- Chennai and Bengaluru (Consulate General in Chennai jurisdiction): Rs. 1600 per person on the KVAC visa-type and centre pages, payable in cash or by POS. The 2026 checklist PDFs list 'VFS Charge Rs. 1380'. Carry enough for the higher figure.
- New Delhi and Kolkata (Embassy jurisdiction): the KVAC fee pages for these centres were not available in the official sources checked, so confirm with the centre.
Courier return is optional at Rs. 550 per person, paid in cash or by card at submission. Travel insurance is not on the 2026 tourist checklists, so it is not a required cost.

### Who can pay for express, and is it worth it?
Express buys time. Minimum processing times (working days, excluding the day of submission) are:

CentreNormalExpressChennai257Bengaluru279Mumbai105Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Goa127But express comes with conditions:

- You sign a Declaration Form for Express Visa.
- In Chennai your travel date must fall within 10-12 calendar days of submission, in Bengaluru within 12-14.
- Chennai and Bengaluru want a copy of a confirmed air ticket and accommodation for express files.
- You cannot switch from normal to express after applying (Chennai/Bengaluru).
- In the Mumbai jurisdiction, first-time tourist visa applicants are not eligible for express.
- Yellow passport (Identity Certificate) holders cannot use express.
- Express fees are not returned on rejection.

### Is a double or multiple-entry visa worth the extra fee?
Only if you will really use it. The double-entry visa (INR 6300.00 normal) is for visiting Korea twice within six months and allows a 30-day stay within the 6-month validity; it is not offered to medical-tourism applicants. The multiple-entry fee is INR 8,100, and for business travellers the Consulate General decides whether to grant single or multiple entry.

Frequent visitors have a better option. Under a KVAC-published guideline effective 1 March 2017, people who visited Korea more than 4 times within 2 years, or more than 10 times in total with at least one visit in the last 2 years, can get a 5-year C-3-1 multiple-entry visa with the visa fee exempted. Each visit is limited to 30 days.

### Can you visit Korea without paying a visa fee at all?
Two schemes let some Indians skip the visa entirely:

- Jeju Island: Indians flying directly from abroad to Jeju, with no stop elsewhere in Korea, can enter Jeju without a visa or K-ETA, as India is not among the 23 excluded countries. The KVAC says the stay is up to 30 days, and Indian ordinary passport holders need permission from the Jeju Immigration Office to travel on to other parts of Korea.
- Transit: Indians holding a valid visa (or permanent residency or a re-entry permit) for the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or one of 32 European countries can enter visa-free for up to 30 days when transiting Korea to or from those countries, with a confirmed onward ticket within 30 days.

### Which fee mistakes cost Indian applicants money?
- Applying too early in the Mumbai jurisdiction. Since 21 September 2026, the Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa and Hyderabad centres accept applications only if your travel date is within one month of submission.
- Choosing the wrong visa. The Mumbai-jurisdiction checklist says not to apply for a tourist visa if your visit is for business.
- Paying for express you cannot use. Express fees are not returned if the visa is refused, and first-time tourists in the Mumbai jurisdiction are not eligible.
- Reapplying too fast. After a refusal you may reapply only after three months.
- Using a fake portal. The Chennai consulate has warned about counterfeit Korea Visa Portal websites; fill the e-Form only on visa.go.kr.
Note that the Mumbai-jurisdiction tourist checklist asks for a confirmed, refundable e-ticket and a refundable hotel booking, so check your centre's list before booking. Yatra For Fun's India office in Gurugram prepares hotel bookings, day-by-day itineraries, cover letters and flight reservations where a reservation is accepted, from INR 1,000 to INR 3,000 per package.
