## TL;DR

Singapore issues e-Visas to Indian citizens, but there is no self-service application: an Authorised Visa Agent in India files it in ICA's e-Visa system, or a local contact or strategic partner in Singapore files it online. Through an agent you pay the INR 2100 visa fee plus the agent's Rs 1300 fee at New Delhi and Mumbai, and processing takes 3 to 5 working days.

## Key takeaways

- Singapore issues e-Visas to Indians, but only an Authorised Visa Agent or a Singapore-based contact can file them.
- Agent route: INR 2100 visa fee plus Rs 1300 agent fee (New Delhi and Mumbai), 3 to 5 working days.
- Local-contact route: SGD 30 paid online, usually within three working days.
- The missions in New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai accept no walk-in applications, and VFS is not used.
- Check status and print the e-Visa on ICA's website with your reference number and passport number.

**Yes, Singapore issues e-Visas to Indians, but you cannot file one yourself. According to the High Commission of Singapore in New Delhi, applications from India go through an Authorised Visa Agent, who files them in ICA's e-Visa system; alternatively a local contact or strategic partner in Singapore can submit online for you.**

## Article

The High Commission in New Delhi and the Consulates-General in Mumbai and Chennai do not accept walk-in applications, and Singapore does not use VFS Global in India. ### Why can't you file a Singapore e-Visa yourself?
Because Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) only accepts e-Visa applications from intermediaries. There are two: an Authorised Visa Agent (AVA) appointed by the Singapore mission that covers your state, or a local contact or strategic partner in Singapore, meaning a local sponsor with Singpass. Either way, the result is an electronic visa that you print and carry.

Holders of ordinary Indian passports must obtain this visa before travelling; there is no visa on arrival. Indian diplomatic, official and service passport holders do not need one.

Some applications take longer than the published times.

### How does filing through an Authorised Visa Agent work?
- Find your mission. Your state decides which mission's agents you use (see the next section).
- Pick an agent from that mission's list. New Delhi lists agents in Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Lucknow, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Ambala; Chennai lists agents in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
- Hand over your documents. A completed Form 14A signed by you; a copy of your passport biodata page, with at least six months' validity on the date of entry; two colour photographs taken within the last three months (Mumbai asks for one); and Form V39A, a Letter of Introduction from a local contact, if asked for. Documents in Hindi must be translated into English.
- Pay the fees. INR 2100 plus the agent's service fee. Mumbai states there is no extra charge for urgent applications.
- Get your reference number. It is generated when the agent submits the application, in a format such as DEL...SA....
- Check the status and print. On ICA's status enquiry page, enter the reference number and your passport number, and print the e-Visa once it is issued. The agent can also print it for you.
The photograph must be 35mm wide by 45mm high, without borders, on a plain white background, with your full face and upper shoulders visible. Avoid white clothing and white headgear.

### Which Singapore mission covers your state?

The Chennai page still shows a visa fee of 30 Singapore dollars converted to INR and an agent fee of INR 1000, while New Delhi and Mumbai show INR 2100 plus Rs 1300; confirm the current charge with your agent.

### What does the e-Visa let you do, and what doesn't it?
- Validity is not your stay. The validity printed on the visa is the period in which you may seek entry. ICA officers decide your length of stay at the checkpoint and send it as a digital visit pass (e-Pass) to the email in your SG Arrival Card.
- Entry within validity is enough. You do not need a new visa if you arrive within the validity, even if it expires before you return.
- No changes. Validity cannot be amended or extended, the visa type cannot be changed, and a visa cannot be moved to a new passport; a fresh application is needed.
- Extending a stay means applying to ICA at least 5 working days before your visit pass expires (Mumbai's guidance).
- Entry is not automatic. Carry a valid passport, sufficient funds and a confirmed onward or return air ticket if applicable; ICA officers decide admission.
On timing, apply about 30 days before arrival so the validity covers your visit. Chennai advises at least one week ahead off-peak and two to four weeks ahead in the March to May peak.
