All figures here are as published on the official sources, checked on 2026-10-15. The rupee amounts are the ones VFS Global India showed in October 2026. VFS states that the INR figure follows the current exchange rate and can change without notice, so treat the dollar amount as the fixed reference. ### How much is each Georgia student visa option in rupees?
Since 1 July 2026, the Embassy of Georgia in India has offered three processing speeds for student visas. The level you pay for sets the minimum time the Embassy takes. The clock starts on the day your application reaches the Embassy in New Delhi, not on the day of your VFS appointment.

Processing levelVisa fee (INR)Visa fee (USD)Minimum processing timeRegularINR 1790USD 2030 working daysPriorityINR 8950USD 10015 working daysUrgent priorityINR 17900USD 20010 working daysThe same three levels apply to the D3 visa and to the new D6 visa. The visa fee is non-refundable. One inconsistency is worth knowing: the VFS long-term overview describes regular processing as within 30 calendar days, while its processing tab says a minimum of 30 working days. Plan around the longer reading.

### What does VFS Global charge on top of the visa fee?
The Embassy fee is only one line of the bill. VFS Global collects Georgian visa files for the Embassy and charges its own amounts:

- VFS service fee: INR 1,500 per application at PAN India centres. This already includes GST and a convenience fee of INR 150.
- NEET validation: INR 538, charged only in the medical student category. The NEET score card for MBBS or equivalent programmes is validated at the VFS centre.
- Courier for satellite locations: INR 846, mandatory at satellite locations and not applicable at VFS New Delhi.
An MBBS applicant at a satellite location therefore pays four items: the visa fee for the chosen speed, the service fee, NEET validation and the courier charge. A non-medical student who submits at VFS New Delhi pays two: the visa fee and the service fee. VFS does not name the satellite locations on the fee line, so ask when you book.

Georgia's VFS network in India has 14 centres: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Puducherry and Pune. After paying at VFS, you upload the scanned VFS payment receipt to the Georgian consular portal, geoconsul.gov.ge, where you filed the online form.

### Is priority processing worth the extra money?
Paying more buys a shorter minimum processing time. Nothing in the Embassy notice says it changes how your documents are assessed, so the choice is about your calendar.

- Regular (INR 1790): fits students whose Rector's Order, university invitation and apostilled documents are ready well before the intake.
- Priority (INR 8950): halves the minimum period to 15 working days. It suits a file that is complete but was delayed by MEA attestation or the university's paperwork.
- Urgent priority (INR 17900): a minimum of 10 working days. It costs USD 200 against USD 20 for regular processing, so use it only when the course start date leaves no other option.
Two document deadlines affect timing whichever level you choose. The university invitation letter must not be older than 3 months, and the MEA attestation must not be older than 6 months. A slow regular application can push these documents past their limits if the Embassy asks for more papers. Track the expected delivery date through VFS's 'track your application' service; the e-Visa support desk cannot give updates on Embassy applications.

### Do minor students and their parents pay the same fees?
Yes, the fee levels match. From 1 September 2026, the D3 visa is limited to students aged 18 or over when the visa is issued. Minors who study in Georgia for more than 90 days receive the D6 visa instead, at the same USD 20, USD 100 and USD 200 levels.

The D6 has a one-year validity and stay, against 90 days for the D3. Parents or legal representatives and minor siblings can also receive D6 visas until the student turns 18. Because VFS charges its service fee per application, budget for each family member's file separately.

Minor applicants also need the consent of their legal representative(s) and a birth certificate. Affidavits, consent letters, birth and marriage certificates must be notary attested and apostilled by the MEA, with the apostille not older than 6 months.

### Which student costs are not on the official fee list?
Several items in the D3 checklist cost money, but neither the Embassy nor VFS publishes a price for them. Get quotes before you count your budget:

- MEA apostille or attestation of your educational documents, plus a same-name affidavit with MEA attestation if your name differs across documents.
- A notarised sponsorship affidavit carrying the sponsor's Aadhaar or passport number, matching the name on the bank statement.
- A student insurance policy covering the territory of Georgia, valid for at least 4 months.
- A notarised rental agreement if your accommodation is rented; the accommodation letter must show the cadastral code, address and duration.
- Notarised Georgian or English translations of documents in other languages.
- A ticket booking, which the checklist asks for alongside the fee receipt.
There is no fixed bank-balance figure in the checklist. You show funds through three months of original bank statements, stamped and signed, or through a sponsor's affidavit with the sponsor's 3-month bank statement and salary certificate, or a grant or scholarship letter.

### Which mistakes make Indian students pay twice?
- Choosing the speed after paying. The visa fee is non-refundable, so decide on regular, priority or urgent priority before you pay.
- Using the e-Visa portal for study. The USD 20 e-Visa is a short-term visa. Degree study runs through the D3 or D6 immigration visa at the Embassy via VFS.
- Forgetting the portal upload. The VFS payment receipt must be uploaded to geoconsul.gov.ge; carry originals to VFS for verification only.
- Mismatched sponsor details. The sponsor's ID number on the affidavit must match the name on the bank statement.
- Missing the appeal window. A refusal can be appealed to Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 10 business days of learning of the decision, in Georgian or with a certified Georgian translation. Fees already paid are not returned.
If your file needs a ticket booking, Yatra For Fun's India office in Gurugram can prepare a verifiable flight reservation, hotel booking, travel itinerary or cover letter. Packages run from INR 1,000 for a flight reservation to INR 3,000 for reservation, hotel, itinerary and cover letter together. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 95230 91018 or through our contact page.
