## Article

The High Commission of the Republic of Cyprus in New Delhi decides every Cyprus visa application from India. Since 21 July 2026 it has used VFS Global to receive applications at 19 centres across India. The rupee amounts follow an exchange rate provided by the Cyprus mission, so they can move. All figures here are as published on the official sources, checked on 15 October 2026.

### What is the Cyprus visa fee in rupees for each applicant?
Applicant or visaFee in euroFee in rupees (VFS page)Adult, short-stay visa, 1-90 days (category C)EUR 90INR 9,800Adult, multiple-entry visa valid 6 months to 5 years (category C)EUR 90INR 9,800Child aged 6-11 (High Commission table: 6-12)EUR 45INR 4,900Child under 6FreeFreeAirport transit visa (category A)EUR 90Not published in rupeesThree rules apply to every row. The visa fee is non-refundable, so a refused application does not get it back. At a VFS centre you pay in rupees. At the High Commission itself, where applications are taken only by appointment via delhi.consulate@mfa.gov.cy, the fee is paid in euro, in cash.

A multiple-entry visa costs the same as a single short-stay visa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues it to applicants who need to visit Cyprus often and who show lawful use of earlier Cyprus or EU/EEA visas, their economic situation at home, and a genuine intention to leave before the visa expires.

### What does VFS charge on top of the visa fee?
The live VFS Cyprus page lists a VFS service fee of INR 334, inclusive of 9% SGST and 9% CGST. The High Commission states the VFS application fee as EUR 2.6 excluding GST.

At submission you hand in documents, pay the fee, answer questions about the trip and give your photograph and fingerprints. Centres outside Delhi send files to the High Commission on the third working day.

### Why do some pages show INR 9,900 instead of INR 9,800?
Because the rupee figures on VFS sources do not match. An older VFS one-pager for Cyprus in India, read on 16 October 2026, shows INR 9,900 for an adult, INR 5,000 for a child and a VFS service fee of INR 633. The live VFS page used for the table above showed INR 9,800, INR 4,900 and INR 334. The High Commission publishes only the euro amounts: EUR 90, EUR 45 and EUR 2.6 excluding GST.

The euro fee is the fixed point; the rupee amount follows the mission's exchange rate. Check the amount shown on the VFS Cyprus India page when you book, and carry enough to cover the higher figure.

### Which other costs belong in a Cyprus visa budget?
- Travel medical insurance: required, with minimum cover of EUR 30,000 for the whole stay, including repatriation and emergency hospital treatment. The premium is set by your insurer, not by Cyprus. Do not buy from companies under EU sanctions; VFS links an approved insurer list (July 2026).
- Translations: documents not issued in English or Greek must be translated.
- Host's bank guarantee: if a friend or relative in Cyprus invites you, the host lodges a hosting form with an original letter of guarantee, which the Migration Department lists at EUR 855 for Asian countries. This sits with the host, not with you.
- Flight and hotel documents: the checklist asks for a two-way flight itinerary and proof of accommodation, not paid tickets.

### What do students and workers pay?
Long-stay routes are run by the Migration Department in Cyprus, and their fees are published in euro only, with no official rupee figure.

### Can you avoid the Cyprus visa fee altogether?
Sometimes. Children under 6 pay no visa fee. More usefully, Indians holding a valid double- or multiple-entry Schengen (category C) visa, or a valid D visa or residence permit of an EU (except the UK and Ireland) or Schengen state, can enter Cyprus without a Cyprus visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. You also need no airport transit visa to stay in the international transit zone of a Cypriot airport.

Because the fee is non-refundable, a refusal is the most expensive outcome. European Commission data show that 11.8% of Cyprus short-stay visas applied for at the High Commission in New Delhi were not issued in 2025 (466 of 3,950 applications, all nationalities and purposes), down from 17.5% in 2024. That is a measure of past decisions, not a prediction. For documents and processing times, see our Cyprus visa guide for Indians.

Yatra For Fun's India office in Gurugram prepares the two-way flight itinerary, hotel booking, day-by-day plan and cover letter for Cyprus files, with packages from INR 1,000 (flight reservation) to INR 3,000 (reservation, hotel, itinerary and cover letter).
