## TL;DR

A Cyprus tourist file from India needs a signed form, two 35 x 45 mm photos, a passport valid three months beyond the visa, a two-way flight itinerary, accommodation proof, stamped bank statements, three years of tax declarations and EUR 30,000 medical insurance. Submit between six months and 15 calendar days before travel at a VFS centre.

## Key takeaways

- Two colour photos, 35 x 45 mm, white background, signed on the back, not older than 6 months.
- Passport: at least two blank pages, valid three months beyond the visa, not older than 10 years.
- Original bank statement for the last three months, stamped and signed (the High Commission gives 6 months as an example).
- Medical travel insurance of at least EUR 30,000 for the whole stay, not from an EU-sanctioned insurer.
- Apply within six months and no later than 15 calendar days before the visit; there is no online application.

## Article

The High Commission of the Republic of Cyprus in New Delhi decides all applications from India, and VFS Global collects them at 19 centres. The checklist below combines the VFS document list (April 2026 checklist) and the High Commission's visa page, as published on the official sources, checked on 15 October 2026. Where the two differ, both are shown.

### What goes on the core Cyprus tourist visa checklist?

Business travellers add an invitation letter for the business trip.

### How should your money proof look?
The VFS list asks for the original bank statement of the last three months, stamped and signed by the bank. The High Commission's page gives bank statements of the last 6 months as its example. If you submit six months, make sure it is still the original statement, stamped and signed by the bank.

The tax declarations cover three years. Pair them with the employment letter so that the income in your returns, the salary credits in your statement and the position in the letter tell the same story. Where you cannot produce something, the checklist itself allows a letter of explanation in place of the employer letter; use it rather than leaving a gap.

### Which photo and passport details get files sent back?
The photo rules from VFS and the High Commission:

- Two photographs for every applicant, including minors.
- 35 x 45 mm, colour, recent and of true likeness, full face; face size at least 34 mm.
- White (VFS) or plain, evenly lit, light background; no software corrections.
- No headgear, except religious head coverings that do not cover the face; no tinted glasses.
- Signed on the back.
For the passport: at least two blank pages, valid at least three months beyond the visa's validity, and not older than 10 years. Bring old passports too.

### What changes if a friend or relative in Cyprus hosts you?
A family or friends visit uses the same base file plus host documents:

- An invitation letter from the host.
- An Assumption of Responsibility form completed by the host and certified by a notary public in Cyprus.
- A bank guarantee from the host, stamped by the Migration Department. The Migration Department lists the original letter of guarantee at EUR 855 for Asian countries, lodged by the host with a hosting form and a copy of your passport.
Because these are prepared in Cyprus, ask your host to start early; your own submission deadline does not move.

### Which travel insurance will the High Commission accept?
The insurance must cover repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment and death, be valid in Cyprus for the entire stay or transit, and carry minimum cover of EUR 30,000. Do not submit a policy from a company under EU sanctions. VFS links an approved list of travel medical insurance companies dated July 2026, and choosing from it removes the guesswork.

### When and where do you hand in the file?
Submit within six months of your visit and no later than fifteen calendar days before it. There is no electronic application. You lodge the file in person at a VFS centre (Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Puducherry, Goa, Jaipur, Kolkata, Trivandrum, Gurgaon, New Delhi, Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar or Guwahati) or at the High Commission by appointment, and give your photograph and fingerprints. Processing is normally 10-15 working days, and the High Commission gives a maximum of 15 days, extendable to 45 in individual cases.

Fees are EUR 90 (INR 9,800 on the VFS page) for an adult and EUR 45 (INR 4,900) for a child aged 6 to 11, plus an INR 334 VFS service fee. European Commission data show 11.8% of Cyprus short-stay visas at the High Commission in New Delhi were not issued in 2025 (466 of 3,950, all nationalities). The VFS checklist is linked from the VFS Cyprus India page, and our Cyprus visa guide for Indians covers fees and timelines in more detail.
