## Article

Croatia's work route has two price lists: the rupee charges you pay at a VFS centre in India for the D visa, and the euro fees the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) sets for the stay and work permit itself. The Embassy of Croatia in New Delhi decides D visas for all of India, and VFS centres operate in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Coimbatore. Fees below are as published on the official sources, checked on 15 October 2026. For tourist visas and the full process, see our Croatia visa guide for Indians.

### How much is the Croatia work visa in rupees?

VFS India publishes these amounts in INR alongside the euro figure for the visa fee.

Appointments are booked online with VFS. Croatia has applied the Schengen rules in full since 1 January 2023, but the Embassy issues the work visa as a national D visa, which is why its fee (INR 10,500) differs from the INR 10,200 charged for every short-stay Schengen category.

### Which fees are set in euros by Croatia's Ministry of the Interior?
The stay and work permit is Croatia's combined permit to live and work for one employer and one job. It must exist before you file the D visa at VFS. The Ministry of the Interior lists these administrative fees, separate from the D visa fee:

Ministry of the Interior feeAmountStay and work permitEUR 74.32Biometric residence cardEUR 31.85 (EUR 59.73 accelerated)Card issuance feeEUR 9.29Work registration certificate, for short-term work of up to 90 or 30 days a year in listed activitiesEUR 39.82The last row matters for short contracts. If the job is short-term work of up to 90 or 30 days a year in one of the activities the Ministry lists, it can be covered by a work registration certificate at EUR 39.82 instead of a full stay and work permit, so ask the employer which document your contract falls under before you budget.

The Ministry's pages do not publish rupee equivalents. Check the Ministry of the Interior's work page for how and where the permit is applied for, since it must be in place before your visa appointment.

### How does the work visa fee compare with other Croatian visas?

The bigger variable for most applicants is the optional services they add.

### Which optional VFS services add to the bill?
None of these is required. VFS lists them for Croatia applications in India:

- Prime-Time submission: INR 5,328
- Premium Lounge: INR 5,772
- Courier (one way): INR 1,054
- Courier Assurance: INR 1,300
- SMS updates: INR 632
- Photograph: INR 532
- Auto call back: INR 521
- Photocopy or document printing: INR 16 each
If your photos already meet the 35 x 45 mm specification on a light or white background, you avoid the photograph charge.

### Is any of the money refundable?
VFS India's notice says the fee paid when booking an appointment is non-refundable once the appointment is confirmed, with one reschedule allowed if slots are available. Personal appearance is mandatory for all C and D applications since 9 April 2025, so plan to attend yourself.

If the visa is refused, the refusal form states the reasons. You can file a complaint within 15 days of receiving the decision, through the Embassy and in Croatian, with payment of a consular fee whose amount is not published in our record.

### What must be ready before you pay?
Paying the fee with an incomplete file wastes the appointment. The D visa checklist asks for:

- the Visa D application form in English or Croatian, signed;
- a copy of the work permit, not older than 3 months at submission;
- travel health insurance valid for 30 days from the date of travel, with at least EUR 30,000 cover;
- an Indian police clearance certificate with the MEA apostille;
- a cover letter, two photographs and a passport issued within the last 10 years, valid three months beyond the visa, with two empty pages.
The standard decision time is 30 calendar days from receipt at the Embassy, extendable up to 45 days, and VFS notes the minimum processing time has been extended from 30 to 60 days. Do not book non-refundable travel until you have the visa; a flight reservation is enough for planning.

Yatra For Fun's India office in Gurugram prepares flight reservations, hotel bookings, travel itineraries and cover letters for visa files, with packages from INR 1,000 (flight reservation) to INR 3,000 (reservation, hotel, itinerary and cover letter).
