## Article

The details below are as published on the official sources, checked on 2026-10-15: VFS Global India, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, Croatia's Ministry of the Interior and the European Commission. Our Croatia visa page keeps the country summary up to date.

### Do Indians need a visa for Croatia?
Yes. There is no visa on arrival and no eVisa for Indian citizens. Only the form-filling step is online: you complete the application at crovisa.mvep.hr, then print, sign and submit it with your fingerprints at a VFS centre.

Croatia has fully applied the Schengen rules since 1 January 2023. A short stay in Croatia therefore counts toward the Schengen limit of 90 days in any 180-day period, and the earlier arrangement under Decision 565/2014/EU no longer applies. If you are only changing planes, India is on neither the EU common airport-transit-visa list nor Croatia's national list.

### Which Croatia visa types can Indians apply for?
The Embassy issues Schengen visas (A for airport transit, C for short stays) and national D visas. VFS India lists these categories: tourist, business, family or friends visit, study, cultural or sport events, transit and airport transit, official visit, medical treatment, work permit and resident permit. Most travellers need the short-stay C visa; the work permit and resident permit categories lead to longer stays.
